It was awesome, I thought it was going to suck because Tjara wasn't there, but it ****ing rocked. At some points there were so many people singing along, you couldn't hear Annette. --- This forum is problematic.

!!!!!! Where at where at?? Was it good what songs did they play did they play any covers of other songs (they do that pretty frequently I'm told and I think it's pretty cool).
Did they only do new songs or did Anette sing songs from when Tarja was still there? I hope it's the latter, Anette can definitely sing but the newer songs sound.. sometimes generic, I guess. __________________________________

Must have been nice.
I gave the new singer a try; couldn't get into it.
Glad you had a good time, though.

It was in Hartford CT (USA), at the Webster. When they first came on stage they had this older guy who I didn't recognize sit down on a stool and start playing bagpipes, then the band member slowly walked in. It was awesome, after there little intro they did 7 Days to the Wolves. They didn't do any covers of things, but they did do a lot of there old songs. As best I can remember they did the following: 7 Days to The Wolves (DPP) Dead to The World Armanath (DPP) The Siren Dead Boys Poem Sahara Nemo (This was epic, I was like "Oh gay, Nemo without Tjara, but you couldn't really tell much of a difference, there was so much screaming and ****) The Islander (DPP) Meadows Of Heaven(DPP) The Poet And The Pendulum (DPP)
They left, then came back and did Ghost Love Score, and I Wish I had an Angel.

Edited by: GM Horse on 02/05/2009 16:06:06 I saw them at Wacken Open Air last summer, and I must say, I was impressed. I was sceptical about their live performance, especially on the old songs, but they really pulled through. They mostly did songs of DPP, but they did most of the big old songs, such as Wishmaster.
That entire gig is up on youtube in pretty good quality if you are interested.

There's a flame war? (Well, outside of Youtube comments) The prevailing opinion I've seen is that Anette is good but that Tarja fit the rest of the band better.

I've seen them and their new singer three times so far. They are excellent live and very good stage presence.
Can't wait till they go back on tour after their new album hits.

I was there, too. Didn't have high hopes (no pun intended) because I had seen them with Tarja before, but I must say Annette did pretty well although her voice was kind of flat in the beginning. Still liked Tarja better, though.
