I wonder how many jumps it takes to go from one side or corner of the eve-galaxy to the other.

Why should I turn on my Invu Field and zoom out? And what am I supposed to count? The Stars in the background?
(EVE does NOT close on alt-F4...)

Could always be ppl suddenly shooting you while counting nebula pixels, but I think we are speaking of a different counting subject here... -----

OK I pressed F10 and counted.......... From my position around the middle of the galaxy it takes about 40-60 jumps to the outer rim. So from rim to rim it would be 80-120 jumps

This, apart from the previous poster getting a quick whine in about lag in history (it's better, what more do you want?), it felt a lot bigger back then. I for one didnt have universe-wide instas, and a quick trip to jita was quite an expedition from some angles.
Less timesink and more action now, i guess. Does hurt the massiveness feeling a bit though. -----

We got more than 7500 systems spread over four kinds of classes (Empire, low sec, deep space and wormholes). I still feel the universe is quite large! And I prefer to have the WTZ rather than being the caretaker of a bookmark book of 50.000+ bookmarks..

Well now EvE has ~twice as many subs as it did when the drone regions were introduced, but we sure don't have twice as much space. A few more regions would be good. Plenty of room behind Outer Ring - and lots of room "above" and "below" hi-sec (NPC sov regions with lots of empire gates plx; if you won't do it for the EoM LP store, do it for the noobs!)
