Hi, so i wanna invest in a new PC but i don't want to go to the likes of Dell or PC world.
So where should i look to buy a new gaming rig from ?
a friend of mine mentioned overclockers but are there any more i can scour for a good deal ?

I'd check out these guys as they openly and honestly state how much they charge for building your rig, and why.

I got mine from here. They have pre-built systems, or you can build your own.
When i upgrade myself to an i7 rig, there's a good chance I'll be getting it from here.

I used OCUK for my last rig - http://www.overclockers.co.uk
Bit pricey but you get what you pay for :)

And really these days you don't have to be all that clever to put a PC together. Just make sure to ground yourself before touching the components in case of static electricity. The hardest part is physically fitting the heastink & fan to the CPU; that can be a bit fiddly. Pro-Tip: do that first.
Also: buy a nice big ATX case, for the love of god.

This is where I have ordered in the past, but I rather buy components instead of an entire PC. The last one is not a shop but a website good for finding shops:
- http://www.amazon.co.uk/

ill make it for you, you will have to pay for shipping though unless you live within a 50 mile radius of manchester, pm me the specs you want it to have if your intrested im not doing it for profit, just rhe fact that i like building rigs :P. You will although have to pay for the pieces (which i will mail you where i will buy them from and the prices) and ú50 for my time (the rig will come with OS of your choice pre-installed) I also do Watercooling systems etc + its a personally made rig and you can choose every aspect of it. I can also show you my own rig i made for example.

This, buildng your own is cheaper in the long run as you get exactly what you need, dont have to pay anyone for what is relatively easy job of putting it all together plus you'll probably learn something - lots of guides on the net for the fiddly bits like installing heatsinks, etc.
Overclockers, Aria, E-Bay - ots of sources of good components
Sites like Overclock3d, Bit tech and toms hardware do good reviews on the different new bits and bobs, google everything you settle on to get reviews and build a wish list.

just built a new pc last weekend. got everything from scan.co.uk. great service flashed the new mobo for me so it would take the new amd x4 955 processor.
only the 2nd pc ive made and id recommend that you build your own pc, its not that hard tbh just make sure you read the mobo instructions fully before you do anything else.
its a full amd/ati system, easily runs 6 eve clients on 2 monitors and was a bargin coming in at under a grand.

Build your own. Always.
It's like putting together legos. Except you actually learn a lot from it. Like how to NOT have a prebuilt ****te computer.

Overclockers occasionally suffer from ****eritis.
I've heard a lot of stories of them shining people on when they don't have bits in stock.
If you do decide to roll your own get all the bits from ONE PLACE or they will give you the runaround if something doesn't work.
