Yes you can but you are not allowed to fit any weapons or use the capital in any fights. When your corp is at war you need to dock up and can only undock when the war is over. |

I'm wondering if this item applies to belt rats:
1. Capital ships may under no circumstances be used for aggression. |

Lol these rules are purposefully vague.
This one could easily be "interpreted" to apply to mining:
3. You may not use your capital shipGÇÖs attributes to gain any sort of advantage over other players while in high security space. |

Yes, they are vague, but when they apply to Chribba's Hi-Sec mining, they should for you too.
Edit: Do you really have to shoot belt rats in that thing in Hi-Sec? Just tank them.

A Dread gives no bonuses, and as such no advantage. You can mine ore just as effectively with a Rokh as with it..
As for rats.. I don't think you'll need to worry about those in your dread lol. |

I don't think you should even have any weapons equipped on your ship. That's a easy way to get it sent to null sec. Why do I have this sig? I don't smoke. |

Mining is fine, what's more curious though (for me) is that someone suddenly asking this, sounds like you just got the ship, in which case it sounds like either a GM reimbursed it wrong just now - in which case it is not a legal ship - or you bought it from someone - in which case too it's not legal since you're not allowed to buy/sell capitals in high-sec.
But as far as the mining part goes, it's no problem, and no problem tanking the belt rats either.

/c So basically, if I understand you right, one is allowed to mine and tank in a ship which one cannot possibly have gotten legally?
This is very interesting indeed. Special rules, it seems, for miners? He who trolls trolls best when he who is trolled trolls the troller. -Darth Gustav's Axiom |

Not completely accurate. It is not legal to aquire a capital in hisec "NOW"... So if the OP bought it or got reimbursed it is an illegal hisec capital.
When caps were first introduced eons ago it was possible build them in hisec which was stopped by CCP once they realised their oversight. The odd hisec cap such as Chribba's Veldbaught are allowed to remain as they were built before the fix and are ye olde players legacy assets.
So the fact someone is asking about what the rules are today suggests either the OP acquired by NOW illegal means or took a VERY VERY long break from game ^^ |

Even the illegal ship is allowed to be used in the same way as the others. However it is stated that acquiring one in high-sec now - after the rules came in place is an exploit and should be reported to GMs.
So the use of it is not a problem - the obtaining of it may be. So you'd not get punished for using it, you'd get punished for obtaining it - if the ship was obtained illegally.
That was my only reflection, since the rules have been in place for a VERY long time now, someone asking about what they can/cannot do made me wonder if someone obtained the ship illegally.
Of course I am not in any way implying that OP has the ship or have gotten one in an illegal way, for all I know it may be a general question about the rules without any links to it actually being done.

Calling troll, to obivious OP asking about mining in a cap ship in highsec and references the C-man himself yet is confused by the rules which are obivously available through google FFS or failing that, calling in the powers that be without running to the forums unless OP was just looking for attention. |

I recall a Nyx was sighted in Jita just the other day due to an improper GM reimbursement. Looks like IA needs to start checking the logs.
Also, OP could have been offered the ship in an attempt to get him to buy it, which would be illegal and possibly get him banned. "How do you kill that which has no life?" |

Now that is one item nobody should have gotten upset about. It can't even mine, no drones and no turret slots.
And you can't exactly hide what your doing.

So what if the current owner of a highsec ship, sells his char but keeps its highsec capital? (The capital stays at the sold original owner char.) Is that illegal too? Dude, where is my Charon? |

In short CCP is keeping tabs on those ships. I would say just send CCP a mail or open a petition letting them know.
