One of my favorite games ever. It doesn't have the best graphics nowadays, the story was kind of **** poor, but goddamn it all the senseless violence still keeps me reinstalling every couple of years to turn the respawn rate up to "ridiculous" so I can go to town with a heavy machine gun and a few grenades.
I just never thought a man's intestines were supposed to look like this.
Seriously, wtf happened to the textures

Ahhh Soldier of Fortune.
You'd never get that level of ballistic destruction in games these days - most developers seem to be shying away from the blood a bit.
I think SoF was the only game in history where you could dismantle a man's head with a rifle. Chunk by Chunk. Good times...
Pretty much how a modern ultra-detailed Carmageddon would never happen now. Boo.

You should try gears of war. It has a tawkbow( sp? ) that fires an explosive dart that sends bits of body everywhere. Plus the ever favorate chainsaw on the end of your rifle

SoF and the sequel were great, albeit not revolutionary. I can't remember which of the two it was, but I distinctly remember an ambush in a chem lab. You enter the lab, cross to far end, then as you try to turn and leave, soldiers pour in and open fire. Bullets whizzed passed my head, ricocheted of metal piping and shattered the glass beakers and containers. It was my first experience that I can remember of such incredible environmental audio. Few games have since managed anything quite so convincing that I was actually cowering in my chair to avoid the gunfire. -------------

I just recently tried the game MadWorld on the Wii. Plenty of brutal sensless violence there.
