Only complaint I have is that I know for a fact that the OP has used his own alts in his "solo pvp" exploits himself. If you run into more than 2 a**holes in a day, you should probably look in the mirror. |

Apart from the fact that I am pretty risk adverse myself...REAL solo PvP doesn't make much sense.
Most people just wants to shoot other people down and see the pretty lights. People definitely do not look for fair fights, which (allow me to say) shoud only exist in controlled environments like tournaments and such.
If PvPers were looking for good fights, noob ships and haulers would be left alone.
Also, real solo PvP means increased risk. NOT KNOWING what could be coming at the other side of the gate is pretty corageous...or pretty stupid: your targets will be cloaked and looking at you, you will be bored, and eventually you'll get blobed and killed.
So, alts and friends are the ONLY availiable way to increase your control over engages. Jumping into the unknown is a one-way ticket to your home station, a brand new clone and a shiny new set of implants. And nobody wants that.
If there IS a way of checking your surroundings for intel that might save you or get you more desirable fights, then people is BOUND TO USE IT.
If there IS a way of increasing your GTFO chances, then people will use it.
Because people wants to destroy your shinies while at the same time keeping theirs, and that's all there's to it. They'll use all the tools at their disposal.
All's fair in love and war, and in war games, doubly so. |
