Lol. love the humor.
However, I must diagree with you as that i can account for an alliance mate of mine who lost a Rhea, Charon, Rorqual, two hulks, and a x-type fitting tengu all in 10 days in 0.0 due to the fact of he was "drinking and flying"
Friends don't let friends fly drunk! lol.

I would agree with you, however there are many other sources that suggest beer has health benefits, albeit when consumed in moderation. |

American pee-beer is actually bad for you.
The only way to get truly healthy beer is to go with what the microbreweries are putting out - but even then you don't know exactly what they are putting in.
The best thing to do is make your own.
I use a Robust Porter recipe from here
7 lbs Light Malt Extract 2 lbs Dry Light Malt Extract 3/4 lb Black Patent Malt 3/4 lb Roasted Barley 1/2 lb Crystal Malt 80L 1 1/4 oz Magnum Hops 18HBUs (Boiling) 60 mins 3/4 oz Magnum Hops (Aroma) 1 min Wyeast 1098 British Ale For Bottling: 1 1/4 cup Dry Malt Extract Or 3/4 cup Corn sugar
I add over 1 lb of molasses to this recipe and age the beer with dark oak chips that were soaked in Goslings Black Seal Rum. Then I use old Grolsch bottles, the 16OZ type, and get roughly 40 bottles per run.
For real fun, get away from the modern (post renaissance) use of hops. Hops are an anti-aphrodisiac and a depressant. You can make tea straight out of hops to knock yourself out all you want and skip the beer. So having the herbal effect of hops working with the effects of alcohol is a real downer. The drift away from real bittering herbs that had a more intoxicating (hallucinogenic, aphrodisiac, anti-depressant) effects such as Wormwood, St. John's Wort, Yarrow, Heather, to name a few started only around 400 years ago. It was the beginning of the so-called "temperance movement" that has basically made the world into the miserable hard-up, ate up, uptight, and nervous-breakdowny mess that it is today.

The article is lying to you, beer is awesome on every level. Especially when you make it yourself.
I'm a bit of a wheat beer fan and you can make it as simple or as complicated as you like and get a good beer, that the ladies will love as well as they tend to run a little on the sweet side. Hoppy beer fans can just ignore the rest of this post
Simple Wheat: 6 pounds of Wheat Dry Malt Extract (DME) 1 oz Hallertau Hops WLP320 American Hefeweizen Ale Yeast
Vanilla Caramel Cream Ale: 3 Pounds Extra Light DME 3 pounds Light Wheat DME 2 pound Caramel 60L grains steeped for 45 minutes. 1 oz Cascade @ 60 min .5 oz Saaz @ 20 min .5 oz Tettnang @ 5 min
1 tsp Irish moss 4 oz Lactose @ 15 min 2 oz Real Vanilla Extract in the primary
Prime with 1 cup lactose, 4 oz vanilla, and 1.5 cups of Light DME
Both above are 5 gallon 60 minute boils and can be found on http://www.homebrewtalk.com/ Zymurgist Community Representative CCP NA, EVE Online Contact Us at http://support.eveonline.com/pages/petitions/createpetition.aspx |

Moderation? Blasphemy.
Moderation is a fatal thing. Nothing succeeds like excess. Oscar Wilde
(feel free to substitute smoke/smoking for drink/drinking) As an example to others, and not that I care for moderation myself, it has always been my rule never to smoke when asleep, and never to refrain from smoking when awake. Mark Twain
GÇ£Moderation has been called a virtue to limit the ambition of great men" Benjamin Disraeli
note: I will ignore any other famous quotes on moderation that do not conveniently fit my personal perspectives on drinking

I am under pressure from friends to do a wheat beer but those have a higher risk of coming out bad. Also, there's something about dark malts. If I see light escaping the carboy, something just feels wrong.
Some "other than pure black hole black" is allowable. There's a Honey porter recipie I used in the past that does not cause laser beams to bend near it and everybody loved it. Currently trying that with mollasses.
