Edited by: Kurfin on 12/05/2009 20:22:32 Since I don't don't have the drone skills to make the arbitrator really shine, and the rest of the Amarr cruiser line is less than brilliant, I was thinking of digging deep in my pockets for a navy omen. Obviously it will rip through lvl 2 missions but how are they for lvl 3s?
Compared to the Harby it has a lot less tank, and 2 less turrets. But it's faster, more agile and has less than half sig radius which should mitigate some of it's tank disadvantage, and has a better damage bonus.
Suggested setups welcome.

Work it up on EFT. Is it really doing anything a Harbl isn't?

Eft shows not a huge difference in DPS, but a big difference in EHP. My question is really does the Omen's speed and size compensate for this?
My main reason for considering the navy omen is I'm also a miner and manufacturer so my training is split between the three, and buy skipping battle cruisers for now saves training time.

I'm sure that an ONI can run a level 3 mission properly fit and flow. However, it doesn't really do anything better than a Harbinger for level 3s, so I really have no idea why you'd bother. A Zealot would at least bring in the range + tracking to make pulses viable for speed runs to grind standing. The ONI is a great ship, but I'd stick to the Harbinger.

Personaly I like the zealot for level 3s but since its not likely you can fly it yet I would just go with a harbi. More tank with the same gank

I don't really know about the navy omen for level 3's, but what I do know, is that you don't want to skip the harby. It's a very sweet ship once you learn how to use it right. Arguably one of the best BC's in the game.

I used a Navy Omen for Level 3s when I was grinding standings on my Amarr character. It worked really well. This was the setup I used:
[Omen Navy Issue, M's Navy Omen] Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Armor EM Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Damage Control II Medium Armor Repairer II
Tracking Computer II, Optimal Range Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II
Focused Modulated Medium Energy Beam I, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Focused Modulated Medium Energy Beam I, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Focused Modulated Medium Energy Beam I, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Focused Modulated Medium Energy Beam I, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Focused Modulated Medium Energy Beam I, Amarr Navy Multifrequency M Medium Nosferatu II
Capacitor Control Circuit I Capacitor Control Circuit I Energy Locus Coordinator I
Hobgoblin II x5
...this doesn't even seem to be a regular case of rats fleeing the sinking ship. Seems more like the rats are on fire, the ship is on fire, and the sea is full of drunk Russians. - Jacob Etienne |

Thanks guys I'll give it a go. If it doesn't work for me I can probably sell it for what I bought it, unless I do something stupid and lose it. The Harby is still there as plan B.
Sadly the zealot is out for now as evemon says I'm 36 days away from it with heavy assault ships at lvl 4.

Edited by: AtheistOfDoom on 13/05/2009 05:34:06 You'd be better off with the zealot tbh, its optimal with scorch and great dps make it great for missions. It can also tank like all lvl 3s and easy lvl 4s.
this is a variation of what i use:
[Zealot, Missions] Heat Sink II Heat Sink II Capacitor Power Relay II Energized Adaptive Nano Membrane II Armor EM Hardener II Armor Thermic Hardener II Medium Armor Repairer II
10MN Afterburner II Cap Recharger II Cap Recharger II
Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M Heavy Pulse Laser II, Scorch M
Auxiliary Nano Pump I Auxiliary Nano Pump I
