Ya you can nija salvage level 4 missions with little risk to lossing more isk then ship your in. I can realy belive this is still going.
Do I like having that nija guy there no do's it overly harm my ablity to make isk no. Why becouse it just means I get to that next mission faster. Time is isk and salvaging in most missions is only halve the isk the other havle is salvage loot.
The missions that nija's harm my isk is the ones with no bountys like drone/fraction ships so I started passing on this kinds of missions problem solved.

WHERE IS YOUR RISK? come on and be honest, what risk do you take? a clear 1-line sentence (NOT QUESTION) would be most welcome.
Well I recently started ninja salvaging and there is little risk. One room I jumped into had a bunch of NPC guns (otherwise empty) which started shooting at me and so I had to run, missing out on all that salvage. About 10 secs longer in the room and I'd have been toast though. That said I've made some 25mil from salvaging about 4 missions and I've been in actual danger once. It's slow to make money but is fairly riskless.
A possible solution was reached a page or so ago - what do you think of this:
Quote: 1. Make wrecks the property of the killer of the NPC for a short period of time, e.g. 15 minutes from death. This allows people the chance to salvage what they kill, but they need to be fast about it. Ninjas would still have the option to salvage in this period of course, but would be at risk of an aggression timer. The fluff can be made to explain it if you care about these things. This keeps the risk/reward balance of profit vs mission speed for the MR, although it could be seen as a nerf to the salvager; hence the next 2 points.
2. Make wrecks scannable with probes. This would allow salvagers to turn up at completed mission sites where there are unwanted wrecks as well as currently running ones, thereby not only increasing the resource base but reducing the chances of a salvager turning up at a MRs ongoing mission.
3. Makes wrecks last longer, maybe 3 hours. This would increase the efficacy of point 2 above.

all arguments are moot as everyone is different and therefore plays the game differently (even if similar/like tactics/playstyles are seen grouped together). mission runners like their missions, ninja salvagers like ninja salvaging, pvpers like pewpew, miners like mining. nerfing one of these makes the whole group mad, and therefore lose CCP money, which is not going to happen.
therefore, stop *****ing and play the game. |

the risks for mission runners have been stated a few pages back, there is nothing to "fix" in that sentence. now it's the ninjas turn to come clean. ---- Ceterum censeo blasters need some tracking love |

Has an ex-Mission Runner and a current Salvager Of Others Missions I can say that if the salvager is smart he has about has much risk has a smart mission runner. Zero percent risk. ************************************************* I have three characters. One has Cov Ops V along with all the bells and whistles that goes with it. |

I've probably already stated my position early in the thread, but I can't be bothered to check nor can I be bothered to type it all in again. So i'll just (re)iterate something.
When i run L4s I do so solo. This means that if I want the salvage then I need to go and change to my salvage ship and come back and get it. Why? Well, I'm not flying a marauder and I need my highs for weapons so no "salvage as I go". This also seems to be the most common method of mission running.
BUT
It is not worth my time to salvage many missions. I was un-convinced by this line that ninja-salvagers feed, but decided to try it anyway. What is the line? You can make more money running a second mission than by going back and salvaging the first one. The outcome of my trials? They are bang on the money. I, now, only salvage/loot missions that are worthwhile in the isk/hour category.
I'm by no means highly skilled for mission running, I'm skilled for combat and have excellent support skills: t2 fit anything on any hull I can fly and can only not field T2 weapons on the hulls I can't fly. ie. Battleships. That's right. After playing the game for 14 months I still can't fly a BS competently.
So in all honesty I beg those of you that don't to try not looting/salvaging missions that don't give lots of nice stuff. You probably want to start by paying attention to the amount/quality of loot/salvage you get from the different factions and then ignore the loot/salvage cycle against those factions that give crap. You'll be surprised. I was.

Quote: silly risk/reward stuff
There's very little risk doing anything in hi sec, unless you're just being dumb and fit your 100mil ship with 10bil of mods or your computer crashes or you're being drunk (remember what mom said about driving while drunk).
If you don't like people looting junk you leave behind after grinding up helpless monsters(tm) you can always go to low sec where you can freely blow them up if they dare to harass you in a mission.
