Originally by: Pastiche Apoc 1.2.1 patch gives: "Verions do not match. Found version 86756 when expecting 88517"
I have corrupted patch install on XP. Still have 20 minutes for the installer to finish downloading.
Build 86756 was Apocrypha 1.1.
The new release this morning, Apocrypha 1.2, was build 88517. This new patch to Apocrypha 1.2.1 build 88737 is only an increment from Apocrypha 1.2.
You need to update from AP 1.1 to 1.2 first using the automatic patching. If you experience no problems then you should just log in and play. If you experience the "black screen" issue then download the additional increment to AP 1.2.1.

Can you link the patch or do I have to probe Uranus for it?

Originally by: CCP Explorer So far Windows 2000 and Linux users have confirmed the new patch is working. Can XP and Vista users confirm that this works for them? That is, does it resolve the "black screen" issue?

--------------------------- EVE Online Update 88517->88737 Setup --------------------------- The Update Wizard will install the update in the following folder: 'C:\Program Files\CCP\EVE'
Is this folder correct? Press 'No' to select the folder yourself. --------------------------- Yes No ---------------------------
You mean CCP doesnt know? WHat kind of idiotic devs have u there?
Ok so what was the root cause of the blank screen and why wasnt it found before deploying?
WHy does this happen 9 or 10 out of 10 times for each patch? Don't you do a post mortem of each patch deployment?

Originally by: CCP Explorer If you are experiencing a "black screen" issue, then try downloading and applying this patch http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/evepremiumpatch88517-88737_m.exe to update from Apocrypha 1.2 to a new 1.2.1. We believe this will resolve the issue.
Please note that this patch has not had a lot of testing yet, so I strongly recommend that you make a backup copy of your EVE folder before applying the patch.
Let us know in this thread if this resolves your issue.
Success! This patch fixed it. Thank you thank you thank you

Game locks up 1, 2, 3 minutes in. Sometimes i get multicolored streaks across screen as if someone has a magnet on it.
I have to crash the PC to get any other function from it after that.
Doesn't happen with any other games.

When can I expect to be able to patch?
I have tried all three methods of patching, and all fail.
I have tried the full 2.1 gigs offline installation 4 times now, downloaded with two different browsers, and each and every time the installer complains about CRC errors in the archive.
I have tried rebooting, then downloading+ installing.
Who do I have to kill to get into eve again?

I think the best fix at this point is to cancel your subscription to get the message across.
Thats the beauty of gaming as a service, if they feck up you stop sending money :)

The problem is that I have been playing EVE for almost 5 years for a reason, its a great game, I don't want to cancel my subscription. Naturally if I still don't get decent help from CCP, then I have to cancel my subscription(s), because I pay for nothing, but I would prefer to get some help.

Working here now too- thanks for quick responce and for offering a fix patch rather than updating the original 1.2, I was having nightmares of having to spend hours redownloading the client on my slow connection

I mean, are u seriously wasting your ''precious'' words on telling how many ppl are online atm instead of saying anything about patching problem to us who are waiting to your response for several ours?
Cool, u guys seemed to fix the ''black screen'' problem, nice, but hey, there are still many of us with patching problem, and i would appreacite ppl stop saying that they got bug fixed, we got that, its fixed, reply only if it is not...dohhh im tired of waiting and ppl's spamming, give me something useful finally...

The corrupt install problem is another bug, a multitasking bug.
The workaround is to force the installer to use just one processor core.

On Linux, I add "taskset 2" at the start of the icon execution string.
