If you are experiencing a "black screen" issue, then try downloading and applying this patch http://ccp.vo.llnwd.net/o2/evepremiumpatch88517-88737_m.exe to update from Apocrypha 1.2 to a new 1.2.1. We believe this will resolve the issue.
Please note that this patch has not had a lot of testing yet, so I strongly recommend that you make a backup copy of your EVE folder before applying the patch.
Let us know in the thread if this resolves your issue.
players should also check the EVE Online Apocrypha 1.2 Issues thread for updated information.

If you are not experiencing the "black screen" issue then you do not need to apply this new additional patch.

Have you tried to 'ping' either TQ or SiSi server ?
(Tranquility) : Ping 87.237.38.200 (Singularity) : Ping 87.237.38.50
you should get something like:Ping statistics for 87.237.38.200: Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 20ms, Maximum = 23ms, Average = 21ms Have you tried to ætelnetÆ either TQ or SiSi server on port 26000, which is the æEVEÆ port?
(Tranquility) : telnet 87.237.38.200 26000 (Singularity) : telnet 87.237.38.50 26000
You should get something like:5~¦♠♦Φ+☻╫α| {¦½G¯z@♦☺EVE-EVE-RELEASE@ccp IF! You get similar results, then there should be nothing æwrongÆ with your connection and is it more likely that problem is caused by your client. If so I would advise to submit a bugreport as describe in the sticky How to: Creating Bug Reports
Good luck
