Ladies and gentlemen, we will shortly be experiencing some exploding followed by some crashing...so i'd hold on if i were you! |

Yes it is possible if you want to wait 30 or more days for your job to start.
If you wish to get into BPO research without wait times then check out New Eden Research.

There are plenty of NPC poses in 0.0 without wait time for ME. I researched hundreds of low value BPOs at those stations using a covops and an untrained alt scout to get them to/from empire.
This is currently not possible due to game breakage.
Lots of out of the way highsec NPC stations have wait queues of only a week or two. Check the unpopulated regions like VV, Genesis, Kador, Derelik...
And finally, if you are letting a datacore alt account lapse for 3-6 months you might as well stick 6 BPOs in the oven to research no matter what the leadtime is.
And in summary, bigger blobs are the answer. Now what was the question? |

Edited by: Fumen on 16/05/2009 04:46:10 There are areas with short research queues without going into nullsec. I can easily find a station with a queue of under 72 hours. However, you may need to find ways to move in and out of hostile areas with some very high value items.
As Breaker77 suggests, finding a corporation with private research labs at a POS or somewhere with secure space (such as in nullsec with a conquered station or output) will give you easy access with a possible bonus to research times.
A word of warning: You can't do research at a POS from a personal hangar. The blueprints must be held in the corp assets. Make sure of the corporation your joining, as they should be making sure of who they're hiring as well. Theft goes both ways in the world of EVE. You hear about how spies take down corporations for billions, but you don't hear much press about how a corp ripped off a trusting employee.
edit: Looks like Clair Bear beat me to the 'post' button. Do heed my advice about finding the right corp if you decide to go that direction.

This is why you make a 1-man corp and join a research alliance. You can use their POS labs, but they can't touch your BPOs.

I've been doing research with 8-12 queues in Empire. Mainly it is just being willing to travel. Grab a map, and look for regions with labs that are not easily reachable from that region, but that are reachable by going around and through other regions.
