Or are they not talking about the corp?
Advertising corps that introduce new players to combat and core game mechanics is a very good thing. It minimizes the number of people who join, don't figure anything out, get bored, and quit in frustration. TEST Alliance BEST Alliance |

Dunno, I dont see it. They see the ad, dont know what it is and will do the above before they even figure out how to find the corp anyways if thats what theyre gonna do. http://www.bioone.org/doi/abs/10.2317/JKES0811.17.1 Bees That Drink Human Tears -- ITS SCIENCE!!! |

Much better than never even realizing there are enormous groups of players who would welcome them with open arms and give them the knowledge and tools they need to go and have fun in EVE their own way.

I have too. Usually before they ever know about corps, banners or no. If its true that this has been in the game forever essentially.

I didn't see anything inflammatory about the OP, but more importantly: few corps/entities make a major impact on player experience and the EvE economy, let alone a positive one, on the scale that RvB does. If you can name 5 of such corps, please do. These places deserve the same attention.
But, to label this as CCP corp favoritism seems to be a bit myopic.
And most importantly: The Goons didn't run from our ECM-from-Hell fleet either, last weekend. I think I'll keep my subscriptions going another month as I'm actually having fun in-game without the drama and obligations of typical corp/alliance life.

CCP asked RvB's CEO if we had any problems with them putting the notice on the log-in screen, and then went and did it on their own. I'd like to hear that from your CEO. Because if its true, then the complaint is TRUE and REASONABLE.
edit: Recruiting is difficult. Noobs are an important resource and channeling them to RvB (through ads) and E-UNI (by adding them to the Help channels) is definitely NOT fair. |

CCP always has its eyes open for extraordinary community building enterprises and we won't hesitate to shine a light on them when we find them. We will highlight large training corporations with good reputations whose doors stand open to all, especially the ones who promise to help new players get past the learning curve and become productive citizens of New Eden. We also won't hesitate to withdraw our support for such organizations should they fall short of what we thought them to be.
We will also use social media and other channels at our disposal to draw attention to good community projects, tools and programs made by players to help players, EVE music videos, PVP videos, short films, good blogs or well made podcasts.
There are a lot of people in the community who go the extra mile to help the community grow and prosper, and if we can nudge their efforts along without interfering in their operation, I think that's a good thing.

Why don't you advertise Goons? As they bring in so much content into the game, and are always the go-to in describing what EvE is all about. |

Thought this was known.....If you want to burn isk run add for pink ponies or something.
Need more-ádecent content a casual player can access in a 1-2h play period that is actually fun and contributes to long term personal and corp goals. This applies to PvE and PvP. |

There's no week, where you can't find at least - let's say - 2 forum threads with "Goon" somewhere in the headline. |

Just a question in regards as to what they specifically think is helping the game, specially since they seem to love them so for all their content. And a small (loud) percentage of players actually ever visit the forums so that's a bupkis standard in determining notoriety from the player base. |

Quite honestly, that's what I assumed when I saw that. Have no problem with it.. think that RvB is a great place for new players to get a taste of what player to player combat is.

Jonah Gravenstein wrote:Why not? RvB is a good place to learn about the PvP side of Eve, it's cheap, cheerful and accessible. Albeit PvP with rules and restrictions.
going straight into blobbing is not a good way to learn pvp, if you want to learn the mechanics of pvp in eve you have to start off doing it alone. When you blob, you dont learn or understand both your strengths or weakneses. Before I went to null i prepared myself by doing solo pvp , gaining an understanding of what ships can and cant do and reading players, knowing what they will do before they even engage me: you cant learn this in a blob , rvb is a fun place no doubt about it but they arent really teaching you pvp its just get in a fleet and shoot whatever is red http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_FJBdQUAO4 |
