I have no problem with goons in this game, but the fact that they have things like wikipedia vadalization projekts at their something awefull forums makes me not liking them.

Originally by: Wolf Stark The only known alliance that I know of that recruits willy nilly, is CVA, and they are in one region that is full of pirates. They really don't even have full control of the region, although all the regions entities will come to the aid of CVA to defend it.
1) CVA does not recruit 'willy nilly'. Corporations who apply to join CVA have to wait at least 6 months before they can join (often longer) and have to demonstrate their worth in Provi before they are accepted. That is a much higher recruiting standard than most 0.0 alliances.
2) Providence is not 'full of pirates'. Yes you sometimes get raiding parties and groups camping entrance gates but they tend to hide as soon as an organised fleet head their way. This is the reason that Providence is the most populated 0.0 region in EVE. You wouldn't have such a density of pilots if the region was 'full of pirates'. Also the vast majority of other 0.0 alliances operate NBSI. Please go to their space and discover if they will or wont 'pirate' you.
3) CVA has complete control of Providence working in conjunction with our 'Holder' alliances. These 'entities' that you refer to have their space because they worked with CVA to get it and know that our 'all for one and one for all' attitude ensures both their and our security. If you could demonstrate any evidence of anyone seriously challenging our Sovereignty in the last year then I would like to see it! Of course if one of the big boys turned on us then we might have a problem - but as it stands we are as firmly entrenched and in control as it is possible for an non-'Great War'-aligned alliance of our size to be...
I have no idea where you have picked up your information on CVA but it clearly hasn't come from a well informed or impartial source. As to your beef with Goons - well I can only hope that it was slightly more educated than your opinions of CVA.

Since I finally see one CVA member alive on the forums, could you tell me about what I asked on CAOD?
A new player with no clue of the grand EvE politics joined a CVA KOS corp say in 2005, then he left it in 2006 (joining another and he became "neutral" on your scores).
Then one day after he's ratting there like for months, he docks to sell his stuff like 100 other times, "something wakes up", he undocks suddenly flagged red with a CVA gank party awaiting him and the station is set to refuses to accept him any more?

Players who were in a KOS corp and then join an NPC corp remain KOS in CVA eyes. Wished it didn't have to work that way but unfortunately too many 'reds' think that joining a NPC corp = forgiveness and then take advantage of temporary neutral status to gank people (until they are reset KOS)...
Saying that - if he joined an non NPC neutral corp and had been around Providence for a while then he shouldn't have been ganked. If he can prove that is the case he can join CVA-Diplo and provide the evidence... ----- Alliance Creation/Corp Expansion Services

"NO! You will post a Goonswarm propaganda piece in General Discussion and get at least 2 pages of responses before your thread is locked!"

umm... Im not sure you understand anything at all dealing with 0.0. maybe you dont have to. but goonies are no different than BoB. In fact they are worst. Id rather a thief tell me he was a thief than have a thief act as a friend but under that smile hes really a thief. If those guys paid BoB to live there it was under there own descision to. they couldve left at anytime. So they knew what kind of Landlord they had. Goonies will scamm and lie and pretend they are there to help you. So they are in fatc worst than BoB ever was. That is the opinion of someone on the recieving end of your so called statement. Unlike BoB goonies want last half as long there because no one not even the people that help them today trust them. Is that what you call good for eve ? |

He was not in a NPC corp, his old KOS corp died and he joined a "neutral" new one.
BTW they told me I am in a KOS corp myself, I don't even know why (I don't play since a lot, I don't even know where you are). But I know that in 10 years I might want to come visit your 0.0 area and be podded because of... boh?

Seriously, if you believe that any large group of players in eve would recruit willy nilly, you have a screw loose. Look at all the alliances in this game that did that, and look where they are now.

As you say, anything you can do in eve you can do in RL.
"We're going to act like the lowest s****of the earth that we really are in real life but like to keep up perceptions there. Here's my rationale as to why this is a good thing."
