OK, so we have corpses in EVE. They are (just like hookers) useless...
...of course, that can change.
This idea is an extension of the Salvaging skill. Have a skill to specialize in corpse retrieval and plugin salvaging.
You collect corpses by way of tractor beam and return the corpse to a station with medical facilities and proceed to try and salvage the plugins there.
Feedback please...

A few things on that:
- Facilities for 'reprocessing corpses should only be available in lowsec and/or at pirate faction stations. Corpse harvesting and implant construction would be a highly illegal activity. Corpses will become contraband in highsec space.
- It should not result in intact implants but implant components instead.
- Amount and type of implant components should depend on the implants that have been in the corpse. May be simplified in categories of 0-50 with every implant bonus adding one point.
- Facilities/blueprints to build implants should only be available in lowsec and/or pirate faction stations.
- Building implants could emulate a invention process with the components as base materials and a successful job resulting in the chosen implant.
This would make corpse harvesting and implant construction a lowsec pirate profession, adding a 'S' to the carebear. -------- Ideas for: Mining

Nonsense! Real corpses can have all kinds of useful recyclables. False teeth, prosthetics, artificial organs, etc. |

In EVE basic biomass used for cloning is won from human corpses.
Which brings another idea: In addition to implant components, corpses refine into biomass which can be further and further refined into higher quality, which can be used to reduce the purchase cost of a new clone (or upgrade) when you have biomass of the required quality grade for the clone level at the station you install the clone.
Basically this corpse harvesting will make dying cheaper for you, the more people you kill and reprocess. |

Tell that to a necrophile.
BTW...this is a game right? Not real life. Though for you the line is probably blurred. |

Implant salvaging is just a lame excuse to create a multi-billion ISK-factory.
I would probably profit from it a lot, since I got a huge stockpile of corpses, but it would just create an avalanche of money. It would also reduce corpses from a trophy status to a commodity.
The concept of either selling or refining corpses to save some ISK on your own clones is less critical, but still not really impressive. How much would such a corp be worth? Depending on skillpoints? Makes no sense, since biomass is biomass and old would likely be worse than fresh. Not depending on skillpoints? Too exploitable. Rookie systems would be carnage halls of corpse farming.
I don't really see many options that would not either be really weird/stupid, or problematic balance-wise. |

I think the implant salvaging for components is a good idea.
And keep the bodies for when walk in stations come out so you can display the heads of the CEO's of the corps you been at war with behind the bar or on the wall. |

That is just too cool.
