hello. i've got a pretty old laptop [compaq evo n620c] that i use when im outside or what have you. before the most recent update i was able to run eve on it. i know it dosnt have enough power to prolly even leave the station, but i like to use it to skill up or chat in alliance. but now with this newest patch, it wont let me launch the game, citing my graphics card dosn't have shaders version 2 or something. i dont expect it to even run eve outside of the station. i just want to be able to start it to skill. is there a way i can disable this system check? Thanks Muffin10010101

There is no way to affect the Client. You cannot simply disable this 'check' its actually an incompatibility message.
The reason why it gives you that message is because of a very important reason.
If i were to ask you to cite an entire thesis on Plato in polish you would probably not be able to.
This is effectively what your graphics chip is being asked. It CANNOT render the new graphics engine.
Its not that your laptop is not up to standard, like lacking RAM or CPU speed. But that the standards your laptop conforms to are not even supported by anyone anymore. Seriosuly its 7-10 years beyond support dates.
Either Buy a new 400ú/$ laptop
Or get a program called 3D-Analyze which simplifies the new SM2 engine into a SM1 counterpart. You will only get 1-4fps and will proably not be able to do anything constructive. But it works for SOME people. ------------------------------------- Read my bio ingame for tips on how to live and not be called nasty names by me. |

you need a video card with at least shader model 3 supported to play eve since the apocrypha release

3d-analyze injects .DLL's into ExeFile.exe those dlls change it so you dont need SM 3.0 anymore, like the other guy said, I think the 1.2.2 patch changed it so those files weren't allowed thus breaking 3d-analyze :( cause it worked fine before patch 1.2.2
PS: because 3d-analyze injects 2 dll's to make the game work on old machines, is that breaking the EULA? cause I know lots of hacks have you inject DLL's, is this the same!? :| I wanna know if its legit to use 3d-analyze lol, cause it doesn't alter the gameplay just makes it work on old computers.
I've tried changing the place where the batch file goes too but then it cant inject the dll's! :( Most people enter eve hoping to be leaders of industries, but they forget that somebody has to clean the toilets! :P |

The original thread on 3D-Analyze might hold some answers to bypass the hash checking, I suggest you check there. _
