Can you exactly tell why? Ein Alfa Romeo ist kein Auto, sondern eine Lebenseinstellung. |

Invention replaced the lottery. CCP has stated they have no intention to bring the lottery back. It was inherently unfair and is now obsolete. T2 BPOs nowadays are more of an anachronism than a balancing issue. -------- Ideas for: Mining

Problem is, the old players would have a much greater chance of winning because they already have characters setup to earn RP.
And all they would get is a lump sum of ISK as they sell the BPO to one of the older players.

How about the other way around? Make a lottery that kills off the sadly existing T2 BPOs, one by one.

I don't know about a lottery, but, I think it would be interesting if you could invent T2 bpo's. Granted my view is you'd have to sacrifice a t1 bpo to have a chance at it. Which, might be easy for the low end stuff, but lets see how many people try and invent a t2 battleship bpo. Bet it'd be one hell of a way to get isk out of the market.

Make it require like 1000 ME and PE, to further dissuade ppl from it?

T2 production has become insanely competitive after invention was introduced. A BPO owner makes more ISK per run, but the inventor generally moves larger quantities so the difference in earnings is not all that far apart.
What I would like to see is post-invention fine tuning. Invention in the 'real world' is done by making a prototype, identifying flaws, making a 2nd prototype etc. until a viable product is ready.
What: Give inventors the ability to improve ME on the T2 BPC. Restrictions: ME0 would be the best attainable through this method and process requires datacores equal to the original invention per ME researched. How: Tweak invention output/input to account for possible improvement of end BPC (#datacores, decryptor attributes etc.)
Not only would it allow prices on the bigger stuff (T2 Cruisers+) to come down some as the largest expense by far is T2 materials, but it would also make the profit per run higher thus giving the 'small time' operators a leg up and increasing competition (BvB - Builder vs Builder).
