So i ruined my amarr faction to -1 and most agents won't talk to me anymore. Including some diplomacy...
If i would raise my standing below -2 (= zero agents talk to me anymore) what could i do then?
assuming I got diplomacy maxed already... :)

Do not run missions for minmatar if you want to rise your Amarr standings. Instead run missions for anyone that Amarr like. Caldari, for example.

-1 isn't ruined, it just means you will have to spend time with low level, low quality agents until that improves.
Once it gets to -2 things are a little more difficult, your options then include deliberately failing missions for Gallente/Minmatar factions but this clearly would have an effect on your standings with them.

You can also raise your standing through derived standing with other factions. Consider running Sisters of EVE missions to help Gallente standing, and Khanid Kingdom for Amarr. -- Nam Sibyllam quidem Cumis ego ipse oculis meis vidi in ampulla pendere... |

go to play some Khanid missions or Anmatar missions. In this way you'll be able to raise your standing... or ask someone to play with you for a while, he'll take some missions, you can help him, and you'll take the standing as well. With the storyline missions then you'll be able to raise your amarr standings as well.
Anyway -1 isn't "ruined". A corpmate of mine has -9 with amarr. The funny side is.... he is amarr as well :) |

Close, but no cigar. Tagging along with someone who is running missions will get you a share of the standings gains with that corp and with that agent, but not with the faction.

can't u them take mission with that agent and then u can raise your standing with the faction?
or is faction standing more powerful than agent standing(the agent won't talk to u if u have +8 with him+ his corp if u have -5 standing with his faction??)

Can we get an answer on the problem of pirate faction standings? If you dip below -2.50 with each group (Guristas, Sansha, Blood and Angel, Serpentis, other one) they are permanently locked out to you. It was only thanks to some helpful folk in Naqam and my current suicide missioning in Stain that I've been able to avoid this. There's also no early warning system for new players about it either, so someone who just blindly missions for their Empire faction won't realise they're locking themselves out until its too late. |

if you have trained diplomacy to 5 then that will chance any faction from being -5 to -2, at -2 you can talk to the lowest quality agent and do missions
if you are lower than -2 and diplomacy 5 then you may be able to mission for another faction that has your faction as a friend - when you get and complete a special mission then your faction will gain - a small amount

I know about diplomacy, it was only with diplomacy V, that I was able to run an L1 Q-19 agent for Sansha's Nation.
The lockout I'm talking about occurs when you hit -2.49 (or -4.99 with Diplomacy V) with all factions of a group. Let's take Sansha's Nation as an example.
Newbie A wanted to run missions for Sansha's Nation for RP reasons and for sexy new pirate ships. The problem was that Newbie A's standing with Sansha's Nation was -4.98. Her Blood Raider standings was somewhere around -7.00 and her Guristas standing was -3.81. Without Diplomacy, she would have been locked out from all missions with them. So she trained Diplomacy V, which brought her standings to -2.49 with Sansha's Nation, -2.00 (ish) with the Guristas and -5.00 (ish) with Blood Raiders.
This meant Newbie A was able to run Guristas and *barely* run Sansha's Nation missions. While it is possible to gain standing indirectly via friendly factions (in this example, Newbie A did a few Guristas missions for experience and a few standing points with Sansha's Nation), the *only* groups these guys are friendly with is each other - so if your standing drops below -5.00 with all three, you are *PERMANENTLY* locked out from doing missions with them.

You can run Amarr storyline missions with a friend. Regular missions wont help your faction standing!!!
Or try contract anyone to help you lol.

Do you get faction standing if you tag along with someone else? I was under the assumption that it won't split the faction standing, at best only the corp standing gain. _________

Correct, storyline missions do not share - only normal missions. Thus why it's impossible to up one's faction standing by group missions. ----------------

Do you get standing for, say Minmatar if you kill Amarr Navy ships in missions? If yes, you could have another char start a mission against Amarr, you fly it very slowly and over the course of a week... would that work? _________

No, you do not gain faction standings with rival factions when you lose standings with another faction. You only get derived standing increases along with direct standings increases.
If you cut yourself off from a block of allied factions, then you are out of luck. Just don't go around ****ing off all the minor empire factions and you will always have a means to rebuild your empire faction standings.

Basically, don't get both Khanid and Ammattar mad at you, nor the Sisters of Eve. The Sisters tend to be much harder to upset, so Minmattar/Gallente are usually recoverable.
All pirate factions dislike each other so there is no recovering those once they won't talk to you.
