OK thought this would be interesting, when petitioning, or something weird happens you get told its a game mechanic..Hmm but i never heard that before you think? Are these hidden ones that CCP dont tell you or just expect you to know.. So be good I think for people to list all those things that you didnt know was a game mechanic but was..
Mine for example was when you undock theres the 30 second timer, however you can still be locked and killed before being able to redock! Thats fine.. However once your ship dies your timer then resets AGAIN for your pod, so you still cant dock thus allowing you to be killed again (well actually podded) this apparently is a game mechanic! WTF so CCP implement a game mechanic, where you (worse if station has been bubbled) you cant warp away that your are guaranteed to die not only lose your ship but be podded!
So everyone watch out for that one..
So be nice to list all others that CCP dont quite tell you about..

Quote: Mr Prosser said: 'You were quite entitled to make any suggestions or protests at the appropriate time you know.'
'Appropriate time?' hooted Arthur. 'Appropriate time? The first I knew about it was when a workman arrived at my home yesterday. I asked him if he'd come to clean the windows and he said no he'd come to demolish the house. He didn't tell me straight away of course. Oh no. First he wiped a couple of windows and charged me a fiver. Then he told me.'
'But Mr Dent, the plans have been available in the local planning office for the last nine months.'
'Oh yes, well as soon as I heard I went straight round to see them, yesterday afternoon. You hadn't exactly gone out of your way to call attention to them had you? I mean like actually telling anybody or anything.'
'But the plans were on display ...'
'On display? I eventually had to go down to the cellar to find them.'
'That's the display department.'
'With a torch.'
'Ah, well the lights had probably gone.'
'So had the stairs.'
'But look, you found the notice didn't you?'
'Yes,' said Arthur, 'yes I did. It was on display in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying Beware of the Leopard.'
Well, you see, it's not a secret thing, you just have to know where to look !

You argued that a session change timer wasn't a session change timer, its not trolling you were just proven wrong, the session change timer resets every time there is a change to your session, getting your ship blown up, thats a session change, undocking, thats a session change, forming a gang, thats a session change, how you managed to ignore this simple fact is beyond me so i endorse the flaming of this thread if people see fit :)

Not VERY cleartext, but, meh...
Quote: Every time your character location is modified, you will experience what is named a "session change". Session changes prevent you from switching to another location again for thirty seconds and your request will be delayed when such a situation occurs.
A character location may be anything linked to his/her physical state and not simply a geographical change. For instance, docking, ejecting, changing ships, being pod-killed, losing your vessel, jump cloning, jumping through a gate, joining/leaving a gang and/or changing roles within a gang, are all actions that trigger the timer. Warping, destroying objects, throttling in space, activating a module or being shot at are however not session changes as your character attributes stay the same.
...they don't specifically include "undocking" in that, but it's relatively clear it applies.

It's one of the most standard replies in any MMO support - you're not supposed to take it seriously or personally. You just have to be persistent and convince them it's worth the time to look into it.
One of my favourite MMO support stock responses of all time is the "sorry, but we cannot discuss game mechanics" reply when you send in a bug report. I could swear they were just running a question mark detection script to help them with selecting auto-responses, because if you so much as used a single ? you'd get that reply...even in a bug report.

Please read my first post again..when the station is bubbled you cant warp away can you!
So heres the scenario
You undock from the station theres a session timer fine undocking timer what ever.. OK so within that time you cannot redock..however a hostile ship CAN lock you within this time and destroy your ship..now yes if the station isnt bubbled you maybe able to warp away however if you do have a fast locking ship that isnt a dictor or hic or station isnt bubbled then its usually warp scrammed you anyway so you cant warp anyway. So before you can redock if you not in a heavy tank ship then you die.. so then once you die you then it RESETS the timer so you cant dock again, meanwhile the hostile can again lock you same scenario when in ship and then you get podded again before you can even dock..therefore you are GUARANTEED to die.. So your telling me that you accept this game mechanic as fair and just?? Seriously?? Is that what you are telling me?? if your happy then hey good for you but im certainly not.. Also the post is about where are these game mechanics documentation information found? You wont go look for it unless it happened, but CCP expect you to know it?
Now for all the trolls who have experienced that and go ooo i knew well yes because of experience, not because its written in the handbook! This post was also to help people in the game, so you Knew about a game mechanic you could post it and help others before it did happen to them. But no as usual with the eve community all you can do is come out with sarcy comments, nothing constructive but try inflate your own egos by posting utter garbage..
*clap *clap i applaud you...

Ah, well either way it's a bit of a "*******s, i'm buggered situation". Ultimately it comes to a case of staying docked until they move, waiting 'til your backup arrives or undocking and taking them on and accepting the fact you'll be crunched I guess.
Generally I think it comes under the risk vs reward catagory, you undocked willing to show yourselves to the hostiles, lost your ship and the price of which also was your capsule. I didn't know you could bubble up stations though.

well not truly correct you cant see out of a station can you, once you undock your pretty fecked really..so basically you should wait until no one is in the system to undock..perhaps we should paint windows on the stations so i can take a peek.. oh and station bubbling .oh yes....
dont want to argue guys just seriously surprised your happy with something your gonna lose a ship and get podded guaranteed wit no possibility of escaping..

I'm more ****ed off at the "game mechanics" I discover when CCP gets rid of them. Implants used to effect skill training time even after being podded? Good thing I found out by reading the patch notes where CCP nerfed that.
