They should remove remote doomsdays, they are overpowered, it allows alliances with very little active people to control entire regions.

Titans aren't a problem. The problem is us, the players.
I've seen so many threads on this lately, and they all fail to recognise or admit a very simple set of truths:
- Aneu should quit, for real.
- Working around a doomsday or two is ridiculously easy. Those who say otherwise are either old and bitter, failed to realise the days of remote doomsdays are over, or refuse to make any effort in alternating objectives and methods in larger conflicts.
- Our default solution to any challenge is to "bring more", willingly and intentionally we do anything just to brag or get more data for propaganda, including killing our own fun, and there is no game mechanism to stop that.
Yes, titans are glass cannons, and a bit of a mobile taxi, and that is about it. This is fine, we just overcompensate.
Why is it that doomsdays tear space apart yet only damage ships, when you put a few dozen titans on the field to secure a system you should be ready to have that risk your own ships or infrastructure. Something, anything which forces us to think like other animals then just sheep is needed.
Forget about all the stuff and debate on feature X, Y, Z, until the moment we have to start using our brains carefully for wielding weapons of mass destruction ANY change in features focused on just the ship or its doomsday weapon is a completely pointless kneejerk change.
Where it comes to Titans, it's us that needs a nerf.

167 Titans is probably too much even for Aneu to lose in an engagement

Never underestimate Aneu. If CCP would move him around from alliance to alliance I'm pretty sure that by the end of the next month there would not be a single supercapital left alive in game. Probably no alliances either.

sorry, just ignoring the rest of this thread, why is 167 titans an absurdly large number exactly?
there are at least 300,000 subscribers to eve currently.
so:
(167/300,000)*100 = 0.05666666667
so, 0.05% of the in game population own a titan.
working as planned?

alliances who have titans have worked hard to have'em. Other alliances who have less or none, well, they are easier to loose their sovereignty. Why 'nerve' a F1 car to an Mira? Just because you can not afford an F1 car? Well mate, get your corpies UP AND WORKING, instead of wasting your time whining in the corners of the universe.

Allow titans into highsec systems with full DD usage followed by CONCORD destruction of said titan.
This would get dozens of semi-inactive titans back into the game to go out in a blast of glory.

Ok since everyone is mostly asking the same question, it needs addressing.
"Why is 167 Titans a problem?"
It's not the fact that there's 167 Titans in the game, it's the powers blocks the majority belong to and what owning so many DDD buttons can mean, trying to take on such an alliance can be anything from a nightmare to nigh on impossible.
There's not going to be a chance in hell of anyone new breaking in 0.0, not only will they not have anywhere near the funds because they don't own the moons, they also wont stand a chance against fleets of titans.
The fact is these ships do not die nearly as often as they are being built and that's likely never to change. Meaning we're only going to keep seeing more and more in the future.
You can't hold down and kill a Titan when there's 20 more hanging around to fire off another DDD as soon as they're in trouble.
But 0.0 has sucked for a long time so I guess it doesnt matter too much, enjoy your drone wars.

with all due respect to your opinion on the matter, goonswarm did it with a bunch of frigates and a few well chosen diplomatic overtures to one of BoB's authorities.
if you try to fight someone on their terms, of course you will lose.
clearly, trying to line up a dread fleet and pop all a major alliences capitals isnt going to work.
so you need to take alternative routes. goons chose the war of attrition initially. raids in ships so cheap it hardly mattered if your whole fleet got wiped out.
then they turned a key member traitor, and voila!
all you need to do is think outside the box. hammers are not the only tools in your toolbox.

heavy dictors are built to withstand DDs, well fit ones can shrug them off no problem. However, they die quickly to concentrated fleet fire very quickly (just like everything else).

Personally i think Eve needs to be even LARGER Ships, or other types of high end content (such as REAL stations), so that theres more variety to the end goals people can set in the game.
Game is rapidly heading towards a culture of 'I have trillions, but theres only Titans and T2 bpos to spend it on'. Not everyone is interested in Titans, and not everyone is interested in T2 bpos, but without more high end content your only going to see prices of T2 bpos go up, and even more Titans flying around.
Unfortunatly Aneu, i think your going to look back at this thread in a year and laugh at '167 titans', there will be those numbers in indivdual Alliances and Coalitions by then.

this is a for more useful idea. if alliances have that kind of money to burn, give them other things to buy.
we all know that people will pay billions for that 5% bonus over their enemy.
why not allow people to painstakingly construct stations that can then be destroyed?
buying bits like refineries, hangars, hiring agents even!
use the t3 system on stations, and make each piece cost a sheer fortune. then massive alliances will have other things to spend their mountains of isk on, and titan mass production will cease.

The only useful idea in his thread to me was the "Mobile Shield Bubble Device".
This would add a strategic level to Titans.

Make jump bridges unable to bridge capital ships into jammed systems.
Make doomsdays cost 1 billion ISK to fire.
There you go.

Primarily Titans seem to be used more for logistical purposes than combat purposes, thus the low number killed. I don't see their numbers as a huge problem.
Thoughts expressed are mine and mine alone. They do not necessarily reflect my alliances thoughts.
