I just put my alt into an Orca purely for hauling and I am wondering how the ship maintenance array and corp hanger work and unable to find any documentation about the subject. Can people only access the SMA if I configure it for gang use and is the corp hanger secure or is there anyway to secure it or can corp members just fly up and access it if they have the relevant roles?
Apologies if this is in the wrong place I just figured the readers of this forum would be more knowledgeable than the trolls in ship and fittings. |

ppl in ur corp can access ur orcas corphangar and SMA but only if they have the rihts to do so within the corp, otherwise you have to set the permissions (rightclick ship select configure ship) and then other ppl in your fleet can access the orca as well |

I don't recall seeing any option to configure the corp hangar, only the ship maint array, regardless, for mining purposes anyone in fleet(and possible outside of fleet) can dump ore into the corp hangar, roles or not.

There is no way to configure the corp hangar. However, persons outside of your corp can deposit items into the corp hangar, they just can't view or take the contents.

Actually, I've found at times they can view the contents of newly added items. I've not found a reliable way to repeat this, but everytime the fleet did have access to the SMA. Not my Orca, so I only get to experiment when I can borrow it. Makes things annoying whan you can see, as there is a natural urge to stack items, and you can't stack when not in the corp.

Well, I am speaking of my experience in the time before my hauler and I were in the same player corp, and both in NPC corps, so things may have changed in the last few months.

I did some testing and it seems to access the corp hanger even corp members need to be in a gang but the ship maintenance array can be accessed by a corp member without needing to be in fleet, being unable to adjust corp roles I am unsure if any special role is needed to be able to access the SMA and I Have security concerns not because I particularly mistrust my fellow corp members it just seems very imprudent to place valuable ships in the array when perhaps anyone from corp can just waltz up and take them because its always possible a bad apple could get past the recruitment process.
So is there anyway at all of securing the ship maintenance array?

If you own the Orca / MOM / Carrier. You will always have full access to your hanger arrays regardless of if your currently have the corp roles to allow you to access those hangers at a station.
Members of your corp only have access to the hangers if you configure your ship to allow them! Then they only have access to the same hangers that they have access to in station.
Your corp and gang mates have full access to your SMA array to put ships in and take ships out regardless of if their in your corp or not when your ship is setup to allow access.
I call 'Bull****' CCP. Isn't it great that the alchemy process was introduced & can 'take up the slack?' |
