Just to lead off, thanks in advance to anyone that can help me to understand this a little bit better. I have read the wiki as well as what little other information I could find online, but I still have some questions regarding a Corporations standings with Factions.
As I understand it, if I have two (and only two) members of my corp, one with 1.0 standing with the Caldari faction and the other with 2.0 standing with the Caldari faction, both having been in the corp for 7 days. That would give my corp a 1.5 standing with the Caldari faction if I understand things correctly (I may be confused on that and would love to be corrected).
If the member of the corp with the 1.0 standing were to quit the corp, would the corp standing with Caldari rise up to 2.0 after 7 days??? and corresponding to that, if the member with the 2.0 standing were to quit the corp, would the corp standing with Caldari lower to 1.0 after 7 days???
Any assistance with these questions is greatly appreciated!!!

There actually is a formula for the rate of change. As far as I'm aware though (I may be wrong), you are correct.
Note that base standings go to corp, not the skill adjusted standings. Also there must be activity on the standing since the person joined the corp in order for the standing to be included.

Thanks Tau! I was able to add your phrase "rate of change" to my search and found the following page:

It explains quite a bit, and I think I have a better understanding now.

At a quick glance, this information is outdated (at least for the 'change' part).
Corporation standings are calculated every downtime, it's the average of the standings of all the members of the corporation who have been in the corporation for at least 7 days. If someone leaves, it doesn't take 7 days to reflect that change, the change takes effect at the next downtime.
