Which makes me sad.
"Bots you say?" Yea, go to Caldari space, find the hot systems via dotlan NPC kills per hour, mash D-Scan.
As a player that invades missions in hopes of getting shot, Bots are a nuisance. They all get reported, I break them by taking the mission objective, then chuckle while the 'pilot' checks every wreck and cargo can looking for the mission objective. Sadly the Bots won't take from a yellow can.
If only you could summon a GM to observe the bot behavior and have something bad happen to the bot.
Oh well, so be it. Bears still run missions, some of those bears still shoot ninja's, and life is good.
Also looking forward to whatever changes are happening with Crimewatch. Maybe an Anti-Bot method can be developed then, or maybe I just won't care as I'm having too much fun exploiting the new loopholes in the updated Hi-Sec aggro mechanics.

I think instead of threatening to ban accounts, the GMs should use sec status penalties to deal with EULA violations.
That would be a good way to get "griefers" out of high sec "noob zones". It would also be a great way to force "bots" out of usefulness.

1) Get a gang of battleships together and gank them. 2) Why bother going against them? Track them, follow into their L4 missions, swipe loot and salvage. Obvious profit is obvious. Them shooting at you is just a huge bonus. |

EULA violations take months based on CCP's track record to investigate. Sec status? They change from mission botting to rat botting. Security status only matters below -5. |

This. And throw in some good old fashioned bumping to keep them from warping off.
Also, there's a petition available for reporting bots, it might be a good idea to use that.
Oh, and to the guy talking about sec status hits, that's just stupid. It's better to just kill the account completely than merely be an annoyance to the botter. |

Personally I'd go with hits on that accounts skills. Drop them all by 1. "Exhumers" is lost when Mining Barges drops to 4, all T2 weapons are lost as the baseline skill drops to 4 and let them retrain if they want - or rage quit.
Apply it to all chars on that account and if main accounts" can be traced back to -- apply there but not banning.
Can you picture someone with capital skills losing all those ships and weapon skills but still able to see that char?
Recycle? Fine. Buy a new one? Fine. Get busted again and those chars get the same hit but CCP didn't "ban" that account, leaving potentially 3 chars (with names) on it sitting there for eternity. Leave such a choice up to the player who keeps paying that account (or waits for all those PLEX to wear out) ...
The loss of potentially years of skill building would be far nastier than just not seeing that char again. "I remember when this guy could fly capitals!" Not any more and they get to see that every time they log that char in - *IF* they log in again but that would be their choice and not "banned" by CCP.
I kind of like that kind of evil punishment more than just suspensions and bans. Start hitting the chars skills and the costs begin to out weigh the risks by factors. "Shuffling assets" doesn't work when skills are permanently attached to a character and of FAR more value than a bunch of isk or a few ships and the like. |

I see how mining can have bots, I have come across many of them over the years.
I dont understand how a bot can actually run missions. You sure your not talking about someone in a rattlesnake afk'ing missions? I would just figure the mission be a bit complex for botting. |

Couple of other guys get it, can't figure out why the rest can not
Lets try a real world example. Claim your neighbor had...nonconsensual PVP with your butthole even though it never happend . So...what happens? Bet you would be surprised to know, not everything you claim will cause the guy to 1) Be arrested 2) Go straight to jail, no trial 3) Cause him to be executed in minutes...because there was no evidence of the fact. Just a dude or in case of EVE, a group of dudes who jump on a soapbox bandwagon that claim Soandso is a bot but CCP just can't act without gathering evidence pointing to the fact which is why it takes so long. Basicly, picture CCP Guard sitting in a Viking costume in a car outside the "bots" house while CCP Phantom is off running to get a cup of coffee and some donuts at 2 in the morning...yup its like a stake out. |

The reason you don't understand is because you're uneducated. There are several different pieces of software out there than can bot missions. Post with your main or GTFO! The Sandbox = Play however the hell you want. |

I fail to see how "I used to be able to fly capitals" is somehow worse than "I used to have an account". Besides, your account being suddenly banned means that the botters can't simply shift the ISK/ships over to their next botting account (or just start botting again on that same account).
