The idea would be to somehow acquire information on when a contested pos is coming out of reinforced and there's likely to be an even fight, and get in there with a bunch of t1 crap frigates or cruisers. A covops would be used to get a warp in point a few minutes in when most of the support on both sides has been blown up. Loot wrecks, mwd out of bubbles before they can lock you, put the stuff in cans in various safespots set up beforehand, repeat until billions of isk is acquired and lots of bereaved cap pilots are ****ed at you.
You would get in by either going to the system ahead of time and waiting or going in something a little better than frigates and blowing up whatever gatecamp they have set up to prevent reinforcements. If you did that you could also figure out where everyone is aligning to and go there finish off retreating ships just for the hell of it.
Has this been done before? Could it work?

You warp in to loot and you will die.
First bubbles will stop you landing at 0 on the wreck. You will get decloaked by drones. You will get hit by smartbombing carriers (assuming theres any left). Cap mods will not fit in a frigate. You have to hope its faction, probably net a few hundred mill if you got really lucky on drops. You will be competing with the loot *****s in the alliance that just killed whatever it is you want to loot.
You will die. _______________

This.
GL with plan, you have it nice on paper but it will be success if you manage to make it into target sys.

its a nice idea with some problems as described above, you could try getting an alt into an alliance and salvage their fleet fights so you have more chance of not dieing but either way you will be very lucky if you don't and you get away with some loot.

I attended a huge party somebody was having in high sec, they were using a large assembly of battleships to take down a POS. There was all this battleship ammo floating around in unanchored giant secure containers...
Small money but the humor value was enormous when I showed up in my Bustard and started scooping cans. ------------------ Ironfleet.com |

Better idea would be to join FW and follow their fleets around with a frig. Seems like you might have allot of competition though. ------ // This is by design. Not a chance in hill that you would make it out alive, just incase you didnt know, most cap fights involve a support fleet fight while the cap fight is going on. and when one of them is wiped out te other stay on the field until there caps have left the system. Its not like your not going to be accounted for in local so they will be watching for the neutral to show his self. oh and getting into the system is damn near impossible unless u have inside information on when and where the fight is going to take place. So to pull that kind of ninja looting off would be impossible at best, but if u managed it u would be come a ninja legend.
p.s like stated above the cap part take 5000m3 so umm yea unles they droping hardners or stuff like that ur going to be out of luck.

Edited by: Mya ElleTerego on 02/06/2009 10:27:48 This wont net you anything but tears, but fit up a sniper hac for maaaxximum range, and use a cov ops to get warp ins, watch for titans on scan. Warp in and pop all capital wrecks. This will not make you freinds but if they are both your enemy, and they are slightly beyond your reach to hurt. This will surely **** them off, and you will get some satisfaction. Keep in mind tho, things of this nature tend to be remembered. Also not recommended at a well setup deathstar, as some pos gunner will lolpop you in about 5 seconds. Alliance Recruit thread Alliance Homepage/Killboard |

Edited by: 128th ABC123 on 02/06/2009 13:16:10 Being part myself of subject capship blobfights.. I can assure that you will probably not even make it into system. Most often these fights are about POS in contested systems. This often means the attacker tries to secure the system from keeping hostiles of coming in. That means the routes to said system have scouts in them and will see you and your merry band of robbers coming several jumps away. Then most support will be on the gates to keep possible cynos from coming into local or any hostile "eyes".
Then... when you do make it into system the area you will be warping into will be rather "hostile". Mostly capfleet fights will not be only capships, but often an array of support range from tacklers to battleships on grid, not to speak about the intense lag.
Whoever wins the fight generally loots the field and unless you have some serious hauling capability and can take your time to loot it's not really worth the effort.
Just harass mission runners in empire and leave looting capships to the big boys. :)

Easiest way to ninjaloot capital salvage/loots is to simply keep alts in various 0.0-alliances, attend fleet ops in a ship noone really pays much attention to, and then try to steal it without anyone noticing. People in those alliances/coalitions steal from eachother all the time, some will be ****ed, but most won't notice.
..and either case, it's so much easier to do it that way then to try steal it as a hostile. - I'd tell you why but then I'll have to kill you. And to kill you I'd have to log in. And to log in I'd have to stop browsing these forums. Both you and me knows that'll never happen. |
