I'm not a newbie but this seems to be the best place to ask.
I want the lowest possible brokers fees and refining tax. Can I buy a corporation with high faction standings (>6.7) to stop paying those taxes, or must I get >6.7 personal standing (ugh)?
If buying a corporation wont work, what's the best way to grind up standings? |

I don't know if standings of your corporation matters - BUT 6.7 is not enough to get lowest possible broker fees.
For refining, 6.67 standing with NPC corporation owning the station is enough to get 0% "we take" amount. (I don't know if skills like Connections are counted or not.)
For broker fees, you need 10 with the NPC corporation AND 10 with the NPC faction that corporation belongs to, to get lowest possible broker fees. (Skills like Connections are NOT counted here.) Helpful graph: http://go-dl1.eve-files.com/media/corp/Thoraemond/eve-market-order-broker-fees-20110417.png
Of course grinding 10 faction standing would be quite hard, so you can use that graph to estimate if you could settle for something less.

Thank you for that graph.
Are the corps with high standings people are selling only useful for those wanting to anchor a POS in hisec? |

6.67 is needed for the perfect refine, but that does take your connections skills into account, so your actual rep can be lower as long as connections brings it up to 6.67.

I dont thing corp standings affect refining and broker fees, only your personal.
Also a corp with such standings would cost a bunch of ISK |

6.7 personal standing for a given station isn't terribly hard, assuming it has an L3 agent, or an L4 if you can run those missions. I'm lazy and maybe do a few missions a week and my standing with my primary mission hub is something like 8.0 or 9.0, and has been over 7.0 since like my third or fourth month of playtime.
Basically, run some missions when you're bored and you'll get there eventually. Don't stress about it too much. |

If genuine:
For refining and trade taxes it's personal standings.
And even if you could buy a corp with high standings, after 1 week those standings will drop to match your as Corporation standings against NPC entities are an AVG. of the standings of all members.
If troll:
Fail, 0/10 Inject your skillbook before you leave the station. Neo didnGÇÖt learn Kung-Fu by having it sit in his usb drive.-á If it moves, shoot it. If it doesn't move, poke it with your gun and then shoot it. We are not running, we are advancing in the opposite direction |
