Nano/missile/web nerf.
nanos needed a nerf, but the one they did was way over the top, completely removing nanos from usefulness and taking out missiles and webs as collateral damage. BECAUSE OF FALCON. Guide to forum posting |

Holy **** this. Changing it was a massive step backwards and the feedback was universally negative and yet they've refuse to roll it back.

Originally by: Roemy Schneider is "ghost training" the part where we cold skill without game time or the dead implants still worked until the skill finished?
'cause i kinda understood the former - but no more +5's for me...
Ghost training is when you have a character on an account training if it is unsubscribed. When EVE first started, this was touted as a feature for the game on all of CCP's documentation. It allowed people to train alts at a minimal cost. Basically, if one was training a capital pilot, give it a 30 day GTC and let it train all but a huge level 5. On the last night before the character's game time ran out set the skill to level 5. When the skill was done, buy another game time card and keep trucking.
This, along with cheap 90 day GTCs, allowed people to run many more characters than they normally would have.
The fact that you continued training a skill at the same rate with the implants you died in came from the fact that training time/rate was only computed when you started training a skill. Now it seems to be done every session change.
O_o i have never seen CCP touting it as such... proof or STFU

the privateers nerf was the start of EvE losing the X factor that made it unique. And it's only gotten worse since. And then there was the CSM.
level 4 agents in general are bad, being in high sec is worse.

Oi, you! In the back! Who do you think you are, with your reasonable tone and balanced view? Get to whining or get out!
Never understood the splash removal, unless fixing the instapod issues was backburnered then abandoned. Or maybe we've perfected the art of the shaped charge. Still, explosions are fun, and I miss 'em. Side note - i was instapodded by a Rupture firing cruise missiles, that 1-shot my Vigil. That was kind of a while ago

…and all of them point to the game guide, which was descriptive, not normative.
The game guide accurately, but only pointed out that "this is how the game works". When the game no longer worked that way, the guide was changed to match how the game now wored. It never touted it as a feature, and it wasn't written by the CCP developers.
The intentionality is clear in the dev blog: it was a bug — just not one they cared much about until it because overly abused. ——— “If you're not willing to fight for what you have in ≡v≡… you don't deserve it, and you will lose it.” — Karath Piki |

NOS Nerf
NOS was overpowered and needed to be nerfed, but wow did they pick a wierd way of doing it. Shoulda used similar mechanics to guns so that smaller ships were effected less.
Falcon "Nerf". They should've actually nerfed the damn thing. --------- War isn't the answer. However, the objective isn't to provide answers rather than eliminate the question. |

this new implant podkill business, thats like the biggest reason for carebears not to pvp, and also a stealth carebeare boost makes it very unfair on 0.0 pvpers,

csm sov mechanics the current ui is horrible, the change to it in same patch we got heat was crap
A special mention goes to all the jumpbridges, it's not as bad in itself as the other three I mentioned above, but it adds to blobbing in a negative fashion.
We have certain entities in 0.0 that always screamed for mechanics to build their own 'empires', well the tragic part is 0.0 has always been very deserted. People clutter up where it's fights, headquarters (tradequarters) and/or where the highest quality systems are. The rest is abandoned. But with jumpbridges these guys got the ability of blob-defend against anything, in short time, which really kills off the small-scale roaming PvP, as well as those who want to live in hostile 0.0 (which I personally spent alot of time doing).
It's pretty weird how so few people can control such waste amounts of space, with so little effort involved. It takes alot of organisation to set it up, but when it's there, they can basicly just sit and reap moon incomes - and what's worse, they monopolise on the supercap building. It was alot better when anyone could build it, anywhere.
While I sympathise with people that want to build stuff, and want tools to defend it, the sov mechanics/jumpbridge combination is just stupid. They don't even need half a brain to defend it, nor much time invested (especially not since we had jumpfreighters, POS upkeep is a joke compared to what it used to be), all they need is numbers.
I'd love to see a complete removal of all jumpbridges, bar the black ops portal. Jumpfreighters, cynobridges on towers, jump bridges on pos, jump bridge from titan - that crap is just way over the top. As well as a complete removal of sov. It doesn't serve any purpose, whatsoever. Hell it was even better when stations swapped ownership multiple times a day. - I'd tell you why but then I'll have to kill you. And to kill you I'd have to log in. And to log in I'd have to stop browsing these forums. Both you and me knows that'll never happen. |

Most of CCPs changes are good ideas just very poorly implemented.
Sov mechanics - Love/hate as someone else said
Moon mining - Ok when Eve had far fewer, t2 capable, players.
T2 lotto - A lottery to see who wins eve? yea... Ghost training nerf. Back when I was in school, this feature was one of the reasons I chose eve over other games.
Nos nerf - Nos needed to be tweaked, not murdered
A host of other heavy handed nerfs where tweaks would have worked fine.

Disposable alts.
- Need to blob with so many pilots it crashes the grid? - Need to check for a potential gate camp? - Need to spam contracts? - Need to be a forum ***** without repercussions? - Need to cyno / invent / manufacture / mine / research without requiring interacting with other players?
Not so much a nerf, but CCP has subtly pushed in this direction with their buddy / friend systems and "Let's break total concurrent online records today by logging in alts!!!"
Oh, and my personal pet peeve from this year - reducing the alliance tournaments to just one day of video.
