Originally by: Kular I will also mention that we pulled a nice little scare on Sux Black and made them run in fear of the vast CVA fleet!
Sux Black were quite aware of the size of your fleet and despite this quite bravely decided to make at least a token gesture of resistance. There's little point though in throwing away ships that on another occasion may have a much better chance of thwarting your incursions into our space.
Most memorable comment of the night that you won't have seen Kular went out on one of our internal channels by one of our scouts, can't remember the exact words but in regards to one of your short gate camps it was said "I can't see the actual gate for drones".
Impressive fleet, I wish I could have seen it with my own eyes but I don't think I'd have had anything but the briefest of glances before I was getting used to a new clone.

oh please Gaius, find another noun to describe us Minmatar. Peon lost its effect quite a while ago.
And yes i did ask a question:
Why the hell would you waste your time gathering such a massive fleet to counter our attack hours after we'd retreated? Hardin himself admits you didn't expect to get in a fight. If you had any balls you'd of gathered what forces you had at the time to defend Amarr space. You knew a 45 strong fleet would fly around unapposed, but you still took the time to amass it before coming to pick a fight.
The only explanation i can find is that you feel safer in numbers. Either that, or you just like getting together in your shiny tin can Battleships, singing your fanatical hymes and telling each other how mighty the Amarr Empire is.

With all due respect.
The mere gathering of such a massive force required time, the actual fleet organisation and operation with multiple gangs and mixed forces was quite a job by itself. If nothing else, it provides confidence in our ability to conduct advanced operations on a massive scale.
It was also a message to all those who so ignorantly claim that the tide has turned. You dream.
At one point though we had reports of a gathering of some 20 enemy ships in rebel space, and the hope that we would get a fight out of you was lingering.
As for your sortie into Amarr earlier on, well I was present and probed the fleet you brought along. The Caldari state must be overjoyed at the amount of coin you provide its coffers, the number of EW birds and scorps you had along meant that any concerted PIE attack with inferior numbers would get well and truly 'white noised'. Command ordered all pilots to stand down, aside from the small force of AMAX and indeed myself, who conducted recon and probes within the system of Amarr Prime.
I did attempt to engage some of your interceptor scouts on isolated occasions, but they would withdraw and within 30 second your entire frig wing would warp in. You'd not expect me to take that on, eh? So much for feeling safer in numbers, and throwing stones in glass houses.
You also seem to conveniently overlook the fact that our outnumbered forces have engaged you repeatedly in large scale battles the previous weekends. Dont you come here and talk of 'balls'.
Talk is cheap, just like your accusations. ----------------------------------------------

Brethren.
If the glorious ignoble CVA slave protecting scum wish to gather a mighty fleet, and I cannot deny it was, and come and parade their arrogant Amarri might for all to see, then let them. While their fleet is engaged in a vain attempt to hunt us down, they will not catch us, and we have an excellent chance to rescue more of our brethren from the clutches of the Amarrian slavers whilst their borders are unprotected
War is never fair, there are no rules, fair fights will rarely happen, and I for one would never wish it.
We will melt in away just to strike at another point, we will pick and choose our fights. But most importantly we will continue to free our people.
Let the Amarri do what they will. The freedom of our people is all that matter. Let these Amarrians spew forth their propoganda, which I suspect is all this fleet was assembled for, we should care little.
For Freedom! -

Maggot was exhausted. An evening of fleet manuvours had left him drained, and then later frustrated, as the CVA went on their own 'away trip'. Maggot stared up at the ceiling of his cell and closed his eyes. After a few minutes the red fuzzy glow was replaced with blackness as he slipped until deep sleep.
***the vigil dropped out of warp****300km in the distance vast numbers of ships gathered around a gate***one by one the enemy fleet targetted him***he was frozen***the ship could not move***drones returned no signal***the mighty battleships closed towards him***his sensors a mass of red***lasers began to tear away the slender shields of the frigate***why would the ship not respond***he was going down***
Maggot's mate watched her partners body twitch and shake. She left the bed and went to the view hole. looking out at the stars she whispered a prayer.

May I suggest "blennus" or "morio" as new insults? (keeping with the Latin theme of PIE, even if the translation of P.I.E. itself is a double tautology ;))
"morio" is like a medieval jester, and "blennus" is best translated as "driveling idiot"

Edited by: Bad Harlequin on 13/09/2004 12:59:51 I'm sorry, i'd thought that 3+ hours was more than enough time to convince the mighty CVA to come out and play. As our own fleet traipsed through Amarr unopposed, we anticipated a harsh response and the glorious defense of the Empire we keep hearing about. Instead i spent hours blowing pod-goo bubbles out of boredom and watching the small red blips of PIE disconnects from the NeoCom system.
It's really rather silly to allow a meaningless incursion to your "throne world" go unopposed, then poke your heads out after all the terrorists are gone to make an identical meaningless incursion and shout "I'm touching you!" at our own homeworlds.
And i respectfully suggest that if we were half the terrorists you wish us to be, we would not be limiting ourselves to military targets. Hell, i think half the fleet was wishing we could pop a few randoms just to provoke a response, but that's what hours of chasing phantoms will do to ya...
[symmetrical note; when no opponents materialized, we too went to crash some pirates' gate party, but they did an even better vanishing act than the CVA...]
Originally by: Hardin I gave orders for those who were available to stand down for an hour as no doubt if they had gone up against your fleet, outnumbered as we were at that moment, we would have been reading about it here today
But Hardin, wherefore art thou worried? Are not the Amarrian ships vastly superior to the Minmatar scrapheaps? Surely every Amarrian ship is easily the match of one, perhaps worth 2 or even 3 inferior Minmatar creations! Or so one would believe going only by the GalNet proclamations...
You have superior technology, superior forces, and the very will of G-d protecting you. I am shocked and astonished to hear you scattering your soldiers to the wind over something as petty as "outnumbered." It seems only being misinformed as to the actual numbers, or perhaps creative interpretation of them (facing 4 cruisers in 2 battleships is not what most people picture at the word "outnumbered," frex ), leads you to face... superior forces? Let me help Hardin here, "superior numbers of inferior forces."
Perhaps your faith is really only as strong as your numerical advantage after all, mmm? GalNet bluster and polish aside. Pity.
Lub, Bad Morio PS miss me?

Numerical advantage?
On at least two occasions in the last month I have been a part of a large CVA fleet that has been engaged by numerically superior forces. Did we immediately scatter to the four winds? No. We stood our ground and fought.
I look forward to the day that MM can claim the same.
