Edited by: myresearch whorse on 03/06/2009 19:37:04 I have a theory, and stupid though it maybe... This is it.
They will never come out.
Why?
Because the cruisers fill the role of t2 frigs, they emulate probers, assault frigs, e-war frigs, covert op frigs, etc etc... Next we might see battlecruisers capable of doing HAC, Recon, etc jobs. Then Battleships doing the jobs of the t2 battlecruisers. I dont really care to speculate on t2 capital ships doing the jobs of battleships, as I dont really see that coming.
Just my 2 cents

The cephalopod raises an interesting point.
I like the T3 move in part because it is an attempt to move focus away from battleships as the single viable ship type. Introducing T3 frigates would be another step in that direction. Prices would have to be within reason, but I'd love to see what the designers would come up with.

My master ses after much effort the 2 cruisers he has (T3) don't in any way fill the role of an inty, though the abilty to warp through bubles cloaked is a bonus the ship still is slow and cumbersom to any t1 frigget.
However being able to warp cloaked in an inty or web at range/ better tank for speed would be neate. A T3 cruiser will be primary also much more then a T3 inty wizzing around.

Yog-Sothoth?
Show me a T2 cruiser than does the role of a T2 frig. Interceptors lock faster than HICs, AFs can fight HACs to a stalemate given both ships are using their usual fits, recons don't get the bonuses of covops to scan strength.
I'll grant the EAFs are kind of crap though, but still useful in a high-speed roaming frig gang.

T3 frigs would be a waste of time unless yhry were asd cheap as t2 frigs.
Other than covert ops scanners every fig use is highly disposable.

Looking at the stats for the T3 cruisers and extrapolating, I'd be willing to pay somewhere around 100-150 for a T3 frigate.

the fact that u dont get that much more from a t3 cruiser then u would a recon, or hac and ull spend around 1.5 bil makes the ship look stupid, however that is untill u actually go and make the ship for yourself ^^.
Id pay the same for my little inty T3. It wont make u invinceable or super human but if some mods are worth more then the whole t3 cruiser + subsytems... money is not really anything. Master ses he already spends 200 mill a pop on most inties when feeling sexy. I love it when people say " for a ship that can insta pop". In all truth its harder to kill a fast well setup inty then any t3 cruiser if the pilot knows how to tack damage.

People spend stupid money on pimping ceptors, see no reason why they wouldn't spend the same sort of isk on a t3 frig tbh, esp as they would probably be a bit more survivable.

If I weren't on my way out the door I would find you posts from spring 2004 saying that using T2 frigs would be a waste of time unless they cost the same as T1 frigs...
Funny that.

The dd will be so big the titan itself will be exploded as well,.
lets face it DD = no pvp, inty = the ****zel,
Titan flying = align , press button, warp, rince repeet
Inty flying = (insert drawing of MR messy) ,
T2 titan if it involvess a more stupid weapon will just help kill pvp more, where as t3 inty would increase it.
