There i was.... exited.... They have accepted the request to transfer to the 24th Imperial Crusade... I was overjoyed. I will have the chance to serve my King and God. Log to the corp channel and pick up a contact report of a single enemy on Kamela system. When i got there it was an ambush, they pop my destroyer in a blink! Call in reinforcements over the radio....... only one brave pilot answered out of 25. After numerous attempts to gather a strike force and tackle the minmitar raiders only one answered the call to arms. They mock us and demoralized the sector with advertising taunting us.... no action..... The lack of leadership and structure is very disappointing. We are facing an enemy who is organized and well funded they operate in small fleets assisting each other... in turn we are a scattered regiment of cowards!

I don't think complaining about it for everyone to see is gonna endear you to your chain of command. Best just give it up and go back to Khanid and sell books or something.

We drove the majority of the 24th Crusade out of the Kamela system a few weeks ago. Organized Amarrian fleet command is now based somewhere ... else.

This may very well be a symptom of 24th Imperial Crusade losing power.
Do not think, however, that your peers are cowards or that scattered fleets are necessarily ineffective. It may be simply they do not care or are losing interest in King and God. It is easy to become disillusioned when the mystical, protective force that formerly seems to protect you dissolves as you are left with only reality to face.
Pilot, cast away this veil of absolution and break the chains that bind you to the power of memes. You are now immortal, free to glide through space as you desire. You can choose your path, so choose for yourself and not the blind thoughts of community you now follow. --- [Don't Think Differently, Think Critically.] |

First, start to learn the history it seems you are from some backwater khanid planet. Amarr Empire has no king. Second upon joining you should first learn some procedures of militia before heading out to open space. Repairing solar panels on the orbit of farming planet hardly qualifies for space superiority combat.
Third, Star Fraction is an alliance engaging in acts of piracy against amarrian militia assets and is well known fact they work in that area. And no they odnt drived militia out as still from that base are starting some corporations they fleet operations or major reshiping is done.
Main reason why the rest of militia moved 1 jump away was to prevent Star Fraction from using carriers as they are forbidden to use them in Highsec due to Concord regulations as to any other alliance.

Star Fraction could you be any more obvious in your attempts to sow dissent? At least you used to skulk around in the shadows and do it, was a much more pleasent IGS back then.
Cpt Nagumo, plenty of organisation going on, you just canĘt expect to get anywhere in the 24th Imperial Crusade as it lets anybody into its ranks. Try a corp such as 1PG, PIE or Gunship Diplomacy and you will get some very effective leadership.

There are always those who think the 24th Crusade needs to serve them instead of the other way around. I believe the excitement of the moment couple with the sudden loss of pilot Nagumo's ship might have caused this, hopefully temporary, outburst of impropriety.
My apologies on behalf of the 24th Crusade for the behavior of this pilot, it is not representative of the Crusade's core military. ____

Yep, we're sure that your mustering in hisec has absolutely nothing to do with your fear of the Minmatar Militia either
Still nice to hear from your own mouth that you are so afraid of Star Fraction carriers that you abandoned your own home system.

Edited by: Alica Wildfire on 04/06/2009 00:23:48 While I do not often confirm statements that my mortal enemies do, I can tell you that Merdaneth has proved to be a dedicated warrior of your cause. But the things you complain are militia immanent and not unknown to fleet warfare on both sides.
But the big difference is the spirit of fight. While the Amarr fight for god or empress, they fight for some very abstract matter, especially if you think of your imaginary friend. On the other hand we Minmatar fight for freedom, against slavery and against the oppression by the Amarr Empire. This is very real if you ever have suffered from Amarr slavery or know people who did. There is no abstraction in it, it is a simple question of existence.
This is a strong cause. And this does not lead directly to better warriors, but it gives the power and the will to learn to fight the Amarr. And this is the reason why we win on the long term.
Don't complain about your milita, this one advice from one of your senior fighters you should take to your heart. For the milita is the place where you put all your power and skill in and which gives you back what you deserve. If you fly blindly into a trap do not suspect a bunch of fighters flying into the same to "help" you.
The Amarr militia is well organized. They usually line up in regular ranks to get shot by us. Very disciplined. I adore the perfect symetry of their fleets before I help to destroy them. The Amarr have some strange sense of order but only very few have the heart of a Minmatar warrior that keeps them fighting over a long time. Many Amarr have to break off fighting for militia cause of athrosis in their knees from praying all day and begging for mercy for their failures.
Whatever you do, prepare to lose a lot of ships for your fine Empress. I did lose a lot of Rifters. If you are not prepared for that, leave the fight. Be humble and polite, respect your enemy, prepare to die and expect it every time you move into lowsec. Then you might see the day when you first can say: I was helpful for my comrades! I might be in a new clone but I was helpful for some seconds.
A personal advice: begin with humble ships like the Punisher for example. Don't fly a Coercer before you got some experience with frigates. And don't count on numbers. Count on yourself.
And don't listen to things your enemy tells you. -- FREEDOM, PUNK & AUTOCANNONS

Silly Jader, we dont fear them, its just we know how much you love hugging stations with them, so it is only logical that we launch from a area where you cant hug station with them. Now we can move about without seeing a carrier camp at the undock point, and God knows you wont cyno them on a gate when our fleet is there, so its pointless that you even have the carrier now.
P.S. I presonally still operate out of the kamela station, your pressence does not hinder me at all.

Sir Merdaneth, It is not greed or loss of wealth that i recent, those are meaningless. It is the reluctance of my comrades to take action against the heretics. Warships and equipment are easily replaced, honor is not. But perhaps you are right, we are not cowards just misguided, and for that i apologize.
I come to the summit to gather support and repel this threat. It seems that the enemy push us back every time. I will try to gather whatever forces and delay the advancement of the heretics. Madame Nur AlHuda if you know the enemy are operating in the area perhaps you can assist us instead of judging my efforts, it is regretful that our enemy shows more courtesy than yourself.

Yes, the Empire has an Empress, but the Khanid Kingdom has a King Khanid II. A moot point but realize the person you speak to is a Khanid and is probably fighting to ensure the safety of his homeland in addition to the furtherance of the Empire's goals. Kings or dictators are often considered the representative of their country, so I assume when he says "King and God", he means his home and his beliefs.

Losing? ... Let's see.
Well, according to the latest statistics you're holding your own against the Minmatar. You haven't lost any systems lately, even if your conquering march has stalled into stalemate.
Basically? It's maybe not all that glorious, but you don't look to be coming apart at the seams in a way that destroys your effectiveness on the battlefield.
Then again, you're not actually winning, either.

As pilot Nagumo has said, it was his purpose to encourage his fellow Crusaders to continue fighting. We all know that battle-weariness can strike soldiers in a long campaign. He merely phrased it in a somewhat inappropriate and clumsy way.
His apologized for his phrasing, that is sufficient for me, and I think the debate should end here.

What war have you been fighting!!!!! better still what time of day do you fight, for the last 7-8 months the amarr militia has been the more dominant of the two militias. Not so much in the timezone known as western (rp) but the that mythical one known as EU (rp) the amarr are the dominant force. fielding very large and capable fleets which often drive the minmitar to dock or highsec. A few times a week the minmitar will come out in something we can not handle but an assualt force is beckoned and waits patiently in a secret location ready to charge into the enemy centre and route them.
As for the militia leaving Kamela, this is the first time i will speak publicly of the matter. The Starfraction capital station camps have made it harder to undock from the station. But only for a small select few who they have given the honour of a war dec to. The rest of the militia still bases out of kamela and most of the sucessful fleets stil form in kamela. the figurs are something like 100 out of 1000 players cant undock large ships from said station. Its a small inconvenience admittably, but they have mad us realise it far better to be in certain stations and systems as there are Alot of benefits to being in high sec.
So next time you complain about your militia my friend please makes sure your the one fighting and not just warping around getting insta poped by a bigger ship.

After thinking about it let me give my analysis of the situation. Whilst I cannot claim to be unbiased and I have a deeper knowledge of the internal working of the Tribal Forces than I do the Crusaders this is a fair an assessment as I can make it. Let me preface it by saying that I do not really believe in "winning" or "loosing" in this type of conflict rather the only points that mean anything is "won" or "lost". I will also leave aside my personal opinions of the whole CONCORD sanctioned war effort for another time.
When The Star Fraction started it's current campaign against the Crusader forces over six months ago now we came into a conflict which had raged for several months previous to our involvement. Systems had changed backwards and forward quite readily in these preceding months and the war between the Tribal and Crusader fleets seemed to be quite dynamic and volatile to my mind. Shortly before our assets were moved into the Arzad system, a system I personally chose due to it's strategic location in the centre of the Imperial claimed territories, something happened internally within one or other of the Militia structure that reduced this dynamic situation to a more continual battle for the status quo. This seems to continue to this day with neither side gaining much ground in the conflict. Mainly this is due to what seems to be a focus on the defensive from both sides in terms of gaining territory and I haven't witnessed an offensive hard push, from either side, for some considerable time now
The Crusaders are outnumbered by the Tribal forces but there seems to be a greater deal of co-ordination between the member corporations of the Crusade than is seen from the Tribals. This, compounded with the terminally split focus of the Tribal forces, especially in regards to the Heretic situation has allowed the Crusaders to hold strong against the Tribal Forces to date. The events in the Caldari/Gallente conflict has seen a number of Caldari loyalist organisations come to the south to join in the conflict, some under the banner of the Caldari State such as CAIN and some having renounced their allegiance to the State and joining the Crusade directly such as the Helljumpers. Equally there has been some movement from the Federation forces to the Tribal. The most vocal and well known of these is Dark Rising. The status quo is, so far, maintained by the lack of a major influx from these theaters.
In regards to your personal situation Cpt Nagumo I would simply point out that it has been my experience that members of the Empire run corporations are treated with a great deal of suspicion on both side of the conflict due to both empire's policy of accepting almost any capsuleer they can get their hands on. The stricter application procedures for capsuleer corporations seem to set minds at rest on both side. The choice for you is to accept this and either prove yourself in the field on behalf of the 24th Imperial Crusade corporation or to apply and be accepted for one of the many Capsuleer run organisations. I would especially recommend looking at the Absinthe, PIE and Gunship Diplomacy organisations as they have proven to be some of the strongest and knowledgeable Crusaders seen on the field to date. Alternatively you can reject this observation and languish in disappointment.
The fight continues and the war rages. It's effects are yet to be seen and it's worth is yet to be measured. I have my opinions and I'm sure everyone reading this will have their own. The future of our kind is being written in blood in the stars. It is a hard thing to read.

That was actually a very astute and un-politicized assessment of the state of the Amarr/Minmatar conflict.
I would normally try to work in some clever insult at this point, but I will resist and simply endorse the accuracy of your post and leave it at that.
I would say to the OP that the only person you can actually count on is yourself. If you are attacked or tackle a ship and call for assistance it doesn't mean there are dozens of pilots on standby, nearby, in appropriate ships waiting to respond to any calls for help. So, it is up to you to keep yourself safe and only engage what you feel comfortable taking on yourself...unless previous arrangements have been made.

Its good to see people being reasonable and honest, The war is at at stalemate atm. It seems both sides have Become more interested in collecting killmails then in claiming systems. Lantorn is the only system with any real interest to the many in the Minmatar Militia and has been defended staunchly by the Amarr for last few months. Solo flying unless experienced in war zone is not recommended find a good corp. I'm not sure who has the edge in this war things change so fast, but the commitment of capsuleers on both sides to this war is to be commended. Quote: We drove the majority of the 24th Crusade out of the Kamela system a few weeks ago.
This sort of thing leads to Fractionist Intel gathering abilities to be mocked (which they shouldn't, never underestimate).
The front lines have been far forward of Kamela for a couple of months. The fact that SF were able to find 24th Crusade assets in Kamela was a failure on the part of Crusade-aligned corporations' leadership staffs, as the most organised Crusader corps were already deployed where they should have been.
Pilots like 'Cpt Nagumo' here, who think the Crusade should cease their operations in contested systems to fall back to Kamela, to assist a lone new pilot, are usually very new pilots whose words will be used to taunt them long after time and experience make them see the folly for themselves.
Quote: the lack of leadership and structure is very disappointing.
The leaderships of the Crusade, and those responsible for our victories and progress in this war, are in established corporations serving with the crusade, not 24IC. Any chump can sign up for that, and the people inhabiting it are normally one of three things:
- Rookies, who are learning from scratch. - Those who have not gained enough respect from militia fleet ops to be hounded by the many recruiters from the 'true' Militia corps. - Spies (Approx. 20% of 24IC membership
Requests for help, from a lone 24IC pilot, far from the rest of our forces, gets very low priority. From anyone.
You think that is weakness. I think it's correct protocol. Maybe when you get my 5 years in the egg, you'll understand more. But be advised, these posts last longer than your 'newb'ishness will.
PS The Matari use their words when they can't fire their guns. Don't let them demoralize you. Win the War.
