Aside of the lottery for BPO's the R&D agent should hand out T2 BP copies with limited runs on it.
Actually it would be more balancing if that would replace the current hand out of originals to only a select group of people.
It would make sense and stimulate doing R&D missions wich also cost us a lott of isk as they always apply for expensive stuff from you.

I have mentioned similar ideas before. If it was done, then it should be for important missions, not just everyday.
Also, handing out a random bpc might not be the best idea. The skills needed to manufacture tech II items are a fair bit nastier than those needed to start a research project. I doubt many people would want to train those skills just to make five or so items.
Personally, I would like to see prototypes given out. Not sure how that would work for areas such as starship engineering though. Too many people would research it just to get a reward every 2 weeks or so.

The original T2 bpo you aquired if you get lucky with R&D makes up for the cost of the daily missions. A r&d agent give out one mission a day, why should such a mission be rewarded with millions worth? In the tech2 race you got the same chance as anyone else doing r&d missions. Stop moan about it, not everyone get lucky and imho with bpc's running out of r&d missions the market would get flooded with them. There is tons of people doing r&d you know. And the "group of select people" that you mention is bull.
As others said before tech2 shouldnt be easy to aquire. The only thing imho that been bad is the lack of components, but that increased from missions now, so should even out after a while. That tech2 stuff seem to land at the same Corps/people is due to people selling their t2 bpo's rather than produce from them.

Quote: why should such a mission be rewarded with millions worth?
Please ask this question again after doing 6 months 1 hour per day R&D missions for all of your agents paying about 100K isk in average for things the agent wants from you. And after all this work you have not recieved even 1 BPO and paid about 10 - 20 million isks.
The R&D points you get from the mission arenŠt really worth anything. The people doing R&D missions do waste time and money today, misguided into the belief that more R&D points give really a better chance to win a BPO. They should be rewarded with a little present from time to time as they are doing the most ungrateful job in Eve.
A 10-run BPC of any existing Tech II BPO each 20th mission or so would be MORE than fair. It doesnŠt make you rich and the BPO owners poor. And it would take care for a better availabilty of the Tech II thingies on the market. |

Fair comments Ruffio, but I don't think it would damage the game for there to be a little more incentive to actually do the missions. At the moment there is not enough difference in terms of reward between doing a mission everyday and never doing a mission.
Offering bpcs or items as occasional additonal rewards would promote this without forcing people to do a mission everyday to stand a chance.

10-20 mill is NOTHING once you get LUCKY. Its a lottery not a sure win just because you got many rp's and done tons of missions. Because so have many other people done as well. The total RP sum grow each day, and not only your pool get bigger but the entire rp pool for all the players doing r&d missions, not everyone get lucky or should get lucky.
I invested 40 mill for a single skill, millions else into other science and agent related skills. Yes, I got lucky in the tech2 race, but I worked hard for it, do I still want more tech2 bpo's? Yes, do I have any high hopes about get any? No. Find something else to do than r&d if you cant hack it. It's boring, time consuming and cost you a lot of time and effort which you could spent on other more rewarding things. However, you just might end up being lucky one day, and it will be all worth it.

Its easy to fix, have CCP stop daily RP's when you dont do the daily missions. There is to many free-riders in the tech2 race that get rewarded without hardly any work. That is the big flaw of the lottery. Dont fix one flaw by introduce a bigger one.
