I can load up eve, everytime i put in my username and password and click login i get an application error and eve closes (send/dont send one)
This happens no matter what username and password i enter, even if i put in a wrong one.
I have antivirus and a firewall but i have turned those off, reinstalled eve and nothing is working. Happened since yesterday, reverting to a previous restore point does nothing and nothing new is installed.
Mcafee antivirus finds no viruses.
Anyone have any ideas, or knows how the client authenticates the user credentials so I can find out the problem

So far I have re-installed EVE checked windows updates disabled sound updated graphics drivers uninstalled firewall and mcafee (although i dont think its that because i can see server status)
Scanned computer with mcafee, avp, and spybot - nothing found
I am getting close to reinstalling windows, unless anyone has a solution?
Alternatively if someone knows how to install xp as a repair over the top of my installation, maintaining my settings and installed applications?

First off, anytime you see that ".. application has encountered a problem.." messages, always click "send report" this will send vital data to MS and us which we can use to help isolate and fix issues.
Other than that, gives these a try:
- Make sure your audio and video drivers are up to date
- Try renaming your cache AND your settings folders (revert if it doesn't fix anything)
CACHE/Settings locations:
2000/XP C:\documents and settings\username\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP\EVE\client_folder_location Vista C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\CCP\EVE\client_folder_location Mac "/Users/username/Library/Preferences/Eve Online/Preferences/p_drive/Local Settings/Application Data/CCP/EVE/c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility"
- Run Logserver, reproduce the problem on your mahcine, submit a bug report with the logfile attached.
