Well since I'm here I may as well say that the current system sucks and I want a decent Tech 2 BPO from one of my four R&D agents before my character dies of old age (Trev looks pretty old).
I mean there are just no check and balances. Whatever happened to the transparency that players could see briefly when their R&D agents said how many BPO's were possible and how many were researching in that area...

ôI think the t2 release speed is PERFECT.ö For me its far from perfect. Almost none of the T2 modules I want to use have been given out to anyone. I am forced to use mostly T1 instead of the T2 modules I want. I donÆt just mean there are not enough T2 blueprints I mean not a single T2 blueprint has been given out for half the modules I use.
The other half that are out are so rare it took me 5 months +90 million odd just to get 5 modules. ThatÆs 5 months just to find 5 for sale. I dont want T2 to be common but its to rare now.

Personally, I think some tech II modules are already too common. Damage mods and small/mediums armour reps II (amongst others) are virtually standard fitting for most experienced payers. If some modules are further behind, it is only because CCP worked on balancing them before they were released. That's vastly preferable to an insta-nerf (as seen with cloaking devices).
If I could make a change, however, it would be that when a new bpo is first handed out, 2 or 3 are given in quick succession, rather than 1 person having a monopoly for a week or two.

I agree, some tech II items are far too cheap. Not worth me making them from the 3 bps I have. I run a few off for personal use now and again. |

And its reasons like this that T2 components are rare, ever thought of making copies of the BPo, keeping those for your "personal use" and selling on the origional? This would then help in the circulation of said T2 items. Still, with that in mind i suppose its human nature to keep hold of something that others do not have as some kind of imagined leverage...
tbh, if peeps want the T2 stuff enough they will find a way/pay whatever to get it. Some of the T2 equipment could do with a little better circulation but on a whole i think its good as it is.

yes lets make T2 items commen and lets get all the bpo¦s out right now.. so the ppl that worked and PAID billions for a T2 bpo dont matter.. lets just all get T2.. **** all the ppl that acturly WORKED for getting them by haveing loads of R&D agents.. paid millions if not billions to get the bpo¦s they have now.. and lets ruin the T2 market like the T1 market.. lets to the same when T3 comes in and so on.. tbh. the game would be better whitout players that think that way.. it will ruin the market.. a broken market will hurt the producer... only man it will be good for is the miner...

Another "I've been doing research for ages and haven't been given anything. omfg the system is broken" threads
I don't bother wasting time with research agents, so I think the system is working fine. T2 mods make their way to the market at a huge price at first (yep, I've got my name in the queue for a 40mil Harpy), then go down a bit as more BPOs are released, finally settling at a price that is a good bit above the cost of producing the item.
Why do people think that items should cost only 5% above the mineral price? There is very little profit in selling T1 stuff in Empire. Loads of items get sold regularly below their recycle value due to the huge amount of sellers. The T2 market should not behave anything like the T1 market which is now a bit of a joke.

Not sure I follow your reasoning. It is nothing to do with imagined leverage.
atm the price for my tech 2 items is hovering just above the production cost thus it is pointless making copies as it would depress the price further. If the price of the components to make them drops then I will go back into production or if I see the price of the finished items move up. Selling on the BPO to a big corp, will ultimately lead to a monopoly power.
btw I will trade BPCs for other BPCs and have done so many times. See trade forum on eve-i.com.

Ok this is my view. In RL new technology is expensive and supply small. As time goes on manufaturing methods of these new technologies become more common, supply increases and stuff becomes cheaper. Prime example are DVD players, 5-10 yrs ago, they cost ú500-1000 and very scarce, now every home has 1 and they cost as little as ú40.
I think yes T2 stuff should be scarce to begin with, but as time goes on, things should become more common.
Unfortunetely there are a limited amount of T2 BPO, i dont think personally people wouild complain as much if the T2 BPOs were constantly given out at a controlled rate say 2 or 3 a week or other time period through R&D agents.
A lot of people have been doing agent missions for 8 months and not been offered a thing. If I were offered a T2 bpo that was 1 of the 1st ones given out, i would probably be happy cause, at least i had been offered a bpo.

well i would be disappointed as researcher with current system
neg, you cant say that your character is a full research character, and still you have nearly the same chance to get a BPO than players who do nothing else Wanna fly with me?

We may as well realise the fact, CCP are more interested in making the game a PvP experience rather than the functioning economic-driven world they talk so much about. How else can they motivate the ease with which the PvP-community can control all of 0.0 and thereby the large income source of their economy? |

I've noticed that T2 component drops seem to be more frequent and larger (although that just may be because I'm better able to get them now).
As the components become more common, the T2 equipment built from them will become more common and less expensive.
I think the gradual phase-in is good. T2 should be something you go for when you have cash to burn and are looking for uber-setups, the typical "I need a ship for [whatever]" type request should still be satisfied with all T1 purchases. |

The main flaw with tech 2 isn't the speed it's released it's tech2 componets and players
Tech2 comps. are just to hard to get in mass, it drives value and makes smaller corps hunt than tend to give up
and players are greedy. you've got your hands a bpo for a piece of equipment that will cost you 500k to make.. how much should I charge.. hmmm 50 million sounds good. Greed and the fact someone will actually pay 50 million.
