And on a more consturctive note, I think this isn't a bad idea. Not sure how easy it'd be to implement in EvEs current form though, and that will be THE major problem with getting this agreed, even if you can get everyone that it's a good idea

I think that you should be able to input your own preferred orbit ranges etc but I wouldn't want the computer to MWD and switch ammo for you. I can understand that it is a pain in the ass trying to do these things in fleet battles when the holy lag hits but I think CCP should try to address the cause of these lag issues, not "make it easier to operate in lag". I think this game is already a bit too point and click no-brainer (yesyes, I don't know anything about your 1337 fleet/guerilla combat tactics, I just click and my missiles fly).

I'd say NO, because this is not the solution to lag, it's aworkaround that reduces the worth of having good tactics and control. Lag should be solved seperately. _______________________________________________

I'd like a 'Move Away' option to help maintain optimal range.
Can get irksome swinging your camera around and manually double clicking away from the target.

hehehe you wouldnt belive it but many many moons ago the devs wanted to have "hacking" a possible ingame feature like activating and deactivating the slots of your enemy or just put every mod offline (however you would need to have your haxx0r skill at lv 5 for that one )
I bet its still on their todo list however it must be somewhere on page 167 so it will prolly take them post kali
anyway your idea is nice and the devs will consider it but dont be suprised if attack patterns will stay on page 168 on their todo list, you know flying in a plantes atmossphere is on page 166 so you gotta wait for that one first .
You know yourself Siddy that there are other issues right now besides shiva that need their attention.
There is a reason why I would like the projectiles unnerfed and the missiles changed asap. However EW is the next problem which I have many ideas about already however its not time to post them yet.
Anyway good idea!

I like the idea and yes it is mainly to work around the lag. And there will always be lag. I've playd many other multiplayer games and there alway was lag. Maybe it should only be simple instructions to be able to react fast.
Exsample: when I mine, I do it with my alt (2nd client) In belts where rats frequently interrupt the peace I need some protection so I use drones. When the rats appear my pc has a lot to do and the screen freezes. Luckyly the drones keep fighting and when the screen returns I can finally coordinate them. If I would use guns or missiles then rats would seriously hurt my 2 ships.
Now... when there is an automated responce you can fight off these rats and be save till the lag dissapears.

as it hasent been macroed allredy
its not like your Flying ship whit joystick or aiming the guns yourself
EVE is not FPS of flight sim - its all abaut your fittings and how you use thous "orbit" macros and Skills ofcorse
