I am surprised that you havnt heard of the CFS or hunting/mining passes.
Of course we protect our interrets. Of we let every tom **** or harry walk right in and take our resources, that we fight hard to protect in order to offer you empire huggers the opportunity to hunt or mine there, then our resources would be plundered.
We are soverign nations, like the empires, with corps who work together for a common goal. We are not bound by Concord laws, no, we don't wish to be but we recoginse the law of concord when in their space.
If you want to hunt or mine here either go to the CFS or get a corp to sponsor you for a license to do so. Don't whine and moan here that you cant get of your own ass and do something about it.

Power cannot be taken, it can only be given.
You gave the megacorps the power when you bought thier goods. The empire governments gave the megacorps the power by writing laws that allowed them to grow so big.
Is it any wonder they choose not to surrender it now?

An Interesting sentiment form a Minmatar. I take it then that you are not involved in the campaign to free Minmatar slaves? Personally I think most of your brethren would disagree with you.
But perhaps you would site some obscure play on words to cover this, like ôWe are not ôtaking powerö we are simply no longer ôGiving Powerö to the Amarr.ö Your reasoning is flawed and feeble at best. Spare us all the double-talk that means nothing.
And by the way, it is Respect that can not be taken only given. Power IS taken by the strong and yielded by the weak.

You cannot give what you do not have. The Amarr's power has always come from fear (and drugs). When my people cease fearing the slavers, then yes, we do in a sense "stop giving them power".
Fear is the weapon they no longer have. We aren't afraid any more.

Good post Jonathan Wark. There lies the problem, how do you change the system? Sitting around and doing nothing will not help. People need to make a stand and make their voice heard. I live in a democracy and I hope that through people power things can be changed.
The government should establish a base in deep space and try to secure a route to it. From here they should regulate the mining to ensure that there is even distribution. It is up to the people to fight for this right.

Interesting.. it sounds like there may be profit to be made in a situation like that. I will have to think on this some more.

Sure, if they want a a war on their hands. We are recognised by the Jovians as soveriegn nations, therefore the Empires would do well to pay heed to that.
What your proposing is invasion and none of the alliances wil satnd for that. Do the governmanerts want a war with all the outer region alliances? Thats a huge amount of space to cover and a lot of resources they know they cant afford to loose.
Take my suggestion, work hard for the trust of the outer regions and you'll reap dividends.

The deep space alliances are nothing compared to the empires. Whle the deep space alliances maybe hold 1-200 pilots in their fleet, the empires hold HUNDREDS OF THOUSANDS of ships at their disposale. I love when the deep space alliances pretend they have power. *chuckles* =<I>= Gloria Victis The Intaki Sovereignty |

Peronally i would like very much for Amarr empire to try and make a thrust to the south. They will have their asses served on a platter by Sansha's Nation, Blood Raiders, and of course the Alliances. Meanwhile in Empire space Minmatar Republic could steamroll through and liberate our homelands.
As far as alliance territories go, no empire has claimed that territory until they arrived. We have been fighting the pirates and through these actions relieved the pressure off Empire borders. We were given nothing. Many good men died (some repeatedly) so we can be where we are. Bottom line: We respect Empire rules. You respect ours. Those that dont wanna play along get a free trip through space without a suit. ----------------------------

Hmm
Why would the empires care about your Alliances?
A mere thousand pod pilots does not an empire make. The alliance's space may be rich in resourses... but those make their way to empire space as is anyway.
An empires power is in its populations not its coffers. There is no reason for an empire to go exert effort to get what it is already getting well enough as is.
Though... dont be self important about the value and power of your alliances. You could beat the pod pilot based paramilitary wings of one of the empires easily enough by wieght of numbers. But you could never beat the thousands of ships the empires themselves could field. However, the cost of such an operation would outwiegh the gains as opposed to other things that such a monumental expence could be used for, and as such it is not likely to happen.

Edited by: Jonathan Wark on 16/09/2004 16:38:38 While I am not a proponent of the Slave Trade, to much risk at the moment, Gaven LoKÆri shows that the Amarr at least have a good sense of how things really work in the balance between Alliance and Empire. Looking at the opinions of the majority of you I find that almost everyone here has mentioned reasons why an invasion of Alliance space by empire forces will never happen. There is just too much for the empires to lose and not enough gain. Simple economics really and nothing more.
But seeing as some people can not be trusted to think logically I will only say that regardless of the situation a true Caldari will find a way to turn things to his advantage. The key is knowledge and hard work, with those two things a person can accomplish anything. Should the Empires decide to take some sort of action I urge all logical thinkers to be alert for opportunities as there will likely be many.

There is a lack of awareness of these issues in the public opinion, therefore the governments can hide their head in the sand. The governing bodies leave the hard work to us pod pilots, and in fact the progressive pod pilot run groups already have a much more impressive track record in securing some of the deep space assets than the governments themselves do.
If you wish to do something about this matter it is best to join forces with some of these groups like the People's Republic of Minmatar or the Paratwa.
