Hi, till this days i never got problems with ship fittings and i didn¦t see callibration costs for rigs. it seems rare to me, that it is not possible to fit a t2 ship with t2 rigs-even t3 ships can¦t be fittet completely (f.e. hybrid collision accellerator uses 300 already) so it¦s nearly impossible to use the third rig slot. there are no skills existing to reduce costs or extend callibration. i think the rigs got enough disadvantages (destroyed when refit, negativ bonuses on other systems, t2 rigs costs hundreds of milliion of isk, and now callibration costs.) i suggest a change of callibration costs for t2/t3 ships. ty for reading tk |

i did think the calibration cost was a little over board , i mean giving a ship and extra 10% fire power is not that bad considering that some corps have ships big enough to blot out the sun |

This is the problem with all items, but i still think that it makes sense, that there are differences between the ships fitting abilities. And as i said, there are disadvantages when you fit a rig-maybe you can expand that-but a rig fitting on a t2 or t3 ship with only t1 rigs possible isn¦t really satisfying...

I forgot stacking penalties rigs also got. And by the way - the positiv effect is not that awesome - it¦s just to have the ablility to opimize the T2/T3 ships and to get the very best out of the ship systems.

What sense would the calibration stat make if all rig configurations would fit problem-free?
Personally I think that some rigs should use up more calibration, because almost all the popular rigs' T2 versions can be fitted problem-free to T2 ships. Trimarks, Nanobot Accelerators, Nano Pumps, Field Extenders, Field Purgers, CCCs, Polycarbons, just to name the most prominent. The whole calibration thing seems more like a band-aid solution to just a few problematic fittings the devs wanted to prevent, instead of a complete sophisticated concept.
What would've been interesting is some kind of 'calibration stacking penalty' that increases the calibration cost with every rig of the same type, making min-maxing harder and encouraging versatile riggings. Whereas bonus stacking penalty is merely a disincentive. Ah wait.. there are rigs without bonus stacking penalty, right? |
