Edited by: Ezikle Chugss on 12/06/2009 22:52:41 So im on my first big alliance fleet op and we warp to FC to begin attack on POS i target broadcast 'Target' and fire. I get a dangerous act warning and being inexperienced think its cos we firing on POS and ignore. CONCORDE turn up n i die. Turns out i had targeted FC who was not in my corp (the broadcast target was a warp to flag )
What the hell has this got to do with concord. I guess this is a new mechanic to try to protect noobs but its total bol**x. You dont see the UN coming in to punish friendly fire incidents.
I got ganked by nasty strangers inviting me to fleet when i was noob and it taught me a valuable lesson to trust no-one when i was in a cheap ship. This is all part of the Eve learning experience.
It makes no sense that u can fire on corp members but not alliance when in fleet. /winge

You messed up. You lost your ship due to your own stupidity.
Get over it, check your target next time before you fire. ___________________

This game mechanic is completely fine. I summed it up in my original post.
You seem to be bitter over the fact that you lost a ship due to your own error after being warned about it.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with this picture other than the fact that you are complaining about dying when you deserved to die. ___________________

Yes i accept i messed up and i am probably bitter. i just think that if you are going to allow friendly fire in corp why not alliance? Why is that game mechanic fine?

This thread delivers the lulz.
I agree the OP is dumb and might have considered looking at his target before firing. Of course, if the OP had his overview set up correctly this would have never happened. |

He says he targeted the warp to flag, so no, it would not have helped had is overview been formated correctly. However, if he had taken the 2 seconds to look at the targeted icon picture then he would have seen not a tower but a ship. So, still his fault, either way. The mechanic is in place to prevent exactly what you describe in your post OP, mechanics fine. |

There needs to be a pop-up message when you click "OK" on a pop-up warning to make sure you read the first pop-up when the computer isn't just kidding about the first pop-up.

Also don't just say yes to a warning message without reading it first. --------------------------------
