www.BattleDB.com
There has been a lot of call for battle reports and less rules for discussing politics here in CAOD and other sites.
Well i doubt this will happen any time soon, so to save the mods some time and keep people from being banned I would like to invite you to check out www.BattleDB.com.
I am horrible at announcements but i wanted to tell you a little about the new site. BattleDB.com has a lot of features specifically designed to fill that missing void for great battle reports filled with video, pictures, and links to killboards. The main page has a wordpress system that is slaved directly into the forums. So you can read and check out an easy to navigate battle report setup, or you can follow the links and add your comment to the forum post based on that battle report. Sign up to become a reporter and have your battle reports posted on the front page as well. The forums are also like no where else. From being moderated by a cross section of eve, to the very relaxed moderation (as close to uncensored as possible) to keep us legal and the site up. Propaganda is allowed and encouraged, this will add to the freedom of voicing your opinion.
The site is being further developed all the time. Just added today is an operation/event countdown connected to a thread. Could be used for widely known or leaked alliance op's, or a countdown for a patch or eve fan event. This is just one of the many modifications we have made to the site. It will continue to develop and offer more and more features. You can even request and talk about development ideas that will actually be read and taken into consideration, some have been added already from users.
So your still not sold because you think there is some connection between PL and hackers or spies and your computer will be OmG hAckZorEd.
Well the only people that have access to any of your sensitive information are Myself and Ander. We take your privacy and the success of this site seriously and will not leak any of your info to anyone. Ander is the operator of EVE-Pirate.com and is one of two administrators on BattleDB.com. He and I are also the developers (more him than me) of the site. I will also put up 1 billion isk ( i am poor so 1 bil is a lot of isk for me) to pay to anyone that finds either of us directly at fault for any leak of information. We will be doing everything in our power to keep security up to date and keep out anyone that tries to attack the database or site.
Hope to see you there.
BTW we need reporters right now, sign up today and get in before the rush.

I believe the correct tinfoil for this situation is:
My alt is really windypops and i am posting with him to troll myself and others, to keep bumping this thread to the top and get more and more people to go to the new site. To prove this i am going to continue post trolls in this thread and randomly talk out my ass.
you are losing your edge windy, i thought you would have called this one already. -

Fun of fact: we've already denied request from certain parties to get info on our visitors.
Are you genuinely bragging about the fact that just a week of the site being up and running you're already under pressure from PL leadership to provide them with sensitive info?
sorry, but PL leadership (me included) is too busy playing dwarf fortress ^^
DF is the new supcom and the next cause of failurecascade for PL. |

there are multiple alliances in the moderator group. Before the super mods cold see ip's last night it changed to just admins. So your ip is hidden from everyone but myslef and ander. For security, development, and spam. Even with this level of security you can still use programs like TOR to hide your ip. -

You have moderators on scrapheap, you have your village uninformed idiots on kugu, what is the purpose of this new website? Another propaganda spinning machine for deluded and uninformed? Another website without a secure code, hoping that some naive member of your enemies always uses the same password? I'd rather read a little biased, but well written Shadoo reports on scrapheap, thank you. So enjoy your company with Goons and fill that website with filth and dirt. We do not belong with you, we do not talk like you and we do not think like you, Something awful is that way.
Wow so much hate. A secure certificate is coming soon.
Also a mobile device detection system is in the works so you can browse the forums easier and faster if your using an iPhone like I am right now. -

people will bicker back and forth. some hard core drama may pop up eventually. If it goes past our rules it will be taken care of.
So far people are being very good on their own. Even in the very political threads.
I have had to perma ban one user so far but that was due to him posting a thread about some loan website filled with spam. gotta love spam bots.

we only really moderate very lightly. no real life threats and some legal stuff. its posted on the site about it.

Thanks for the great ideas people joining from this thread are posting about. Many have been added and more have been added to the development to do list.
Keep the ideas flowing. Makes it a better place each time. |

Originally by: Major Stormer The only way I can see it failing is if they fail to do the minimium moderating they state they want, and it turns into a ****hole like CAOD.
the main problem with caod less with SHC is that it cannot ever come close to an end of a discussion or debate due to moderation issues. Not saying our site will create a final answer for a debate, but it allows a debate to play out enough for people to make their own decision about who is right and who is wrong.
It allows all voices, even the high sec miner to chime in. Where most high sec non affiliated people would get modded out of a discussion. Not to say they wont get called pubie for a few posts they prob will.
Freedom of speech allows for more freedom of thought with the ability to show your perspective completely right or wrong. Some people may find themselves changing thought patterns about who is right, wrong, or just plain dumb.
It really will show people the full message from each group. Then everyone involved will see how the propaganda and media campaigns work when not neutered. Who knows it may change the direction and message a lot of groups have been spreading for years and years. Hopefully throwing the political landscape a curve ball and make people actually think about why they lean one way or another.

Originally by: Pallidum Treponema Yes, there is currently a bias towards PL battlereports. This is going to happen because the founders are members of PL, and the site is obviously going to be better promoted among its home alliance. As it grows more popular and more people sign up, that may or may not change.
also the first week was mostly friendly groups helping bug hunt. then it was sent public. Also i tried to kick some stuff out. The source for the 27 DD story was from the forum thread in the site. I asked for picS and videos and people posted them.
Sign up and post is only way you can turn the stories on the front page to your groups favor. we wont balance how many each group has on it or screw with it they just have to have content. Who ever posts more post more.
Its up to each group to decide how much of the propaganda war you want to wage. |
