This may sound like every other "how do i set up my apoc" post, but every reply to those points to using mega-pulses. I thought since the tracking changes, that using 'L' guns was a bad-thing against frigs/cruisers. Here's my Agent running setup with my apoc, i've had the blockade mission and the mordus mission and never really went below 75% armor, but im a bit concerned about the shield recharge.
High -
8x Heavy Pulse (with Gamma)
Medium -
100MN MWD 3x Cap Recharger 1 (cant afford CR2)
Low -
Thermal Hardener Kinetic Hardener Medium Armor Repairer (Mechanics 3 in training atm) 2x Cap Relays Heatsink 2 Nano-armor-all-round-hardener-thingy-cant-remember-name
I do have 8 Mega pulses in hanger just incase I get the sabotage mission though

Edited by: NoNamium on 21/09/2004 10:31:40 Here's my setup... make of it what you will:
8x Mega pulse with radio 2x cap recharger 2 2x 100mn MWD 3x Heat Sink 2 3x Cap power relay 1 1x Medium inefficient armor repairer (have had no use for this yet)
EDIT: Warp in at 60km and keep distance at 55km. I only have trouble killing elite frigattes in the mission sabotaged, but I leave them alone and pick off the cruisers and battleships. I don't know why the others do not attack me even when I move in for the loot pickup, but hey! it works!

Is that the "kill them before they kill you" setup?
Again, ure using mega-pulses, can someone comment on whether these work on mission rats?

Most important thing for a mission apoc is a big pot of coffee, to keep you awake whilst travelling to and from spawns. Great ship, but it's sooo slow. And as for those uber-armour tanks, they're just not needed (sabotaged possible exception). I tanked the mordus mission successfully in a geddon with one named medium armour rep and no hardeners.
I also recommend sensor boosters and tracking computers. That will speed up dealing with frigs by huge amounts.

i have an odd setup for apoc on lv3, well not odd but different. I found at close range especially on the blockade missions etc. large lasers were too slow at killing plus warping in at 20km means quicker collection of loot, so Im fitted with 8 medium heavy anode lasers, 100mn mwd for fast collection of loot, large shield boost and large cap battery, heatsink, tracking enhancer, large armour repair and the rest cap relays rechargers etc. and a mix of heavy and medium drones.
Sheild boost is a strange choice but with it the amrour never gets damage (peace of mind i suppose) and all ships and frigs are dealt with very swiftly leaving me to scoop the loot very quickly too.
Like I said strange setup but I find its the quickest way to do lv3 missions if you want the loot. The low cap use of the med lasers mean you can run shield boost and lasers infinitately

Hmm I can run 8 megapulses and armor tank indefinitely with proper cap recharge.Shield tank with medium weapons is not really necessary.
Fit 4 cap rechargers II in mediums, and like 2-3 cap relays in lows.

According to the thread about the mordus mission, lots of people have been owned in a bs. But im also thinking about the Sabotage mission with the "friendly" bs.

My apoc for missions is cheap, easy, and works.
8x mega pulse with radios (seems to be a pattern here)
1x 100mn mwd 1x med shield booster (optional) 1x sensor booster 1x webifier
5x cap relays (might be overkill) 1x heatsink ii 1x large armor repairer (for emergencies)
15x hammerheads (NPCs drop them, so its easy to replace lost ones)
Always warp in at 60km. Blast any frigates you see first, since they are annoying little ****s. If there is a big group, just turn around the other way to keep some distance. If they get within 20km, just turn on the MWD 1 or 2 cycles. If they far too close, webify and drone them, but with 5x caps you should always have enough cap to run the MWD.
Only downside is that you are placed far away from the cargo cans, unless you dont bother with them except with the main npc's can, in which case you can let him get close before finishing him off with drones.
MWDing to cans is pretty easy, since you dont need to stop (hitting can will stop your ship), but you need to figure out how to navigate around them. ********** Everyone deserves to die. You go first.

I agree, if you need an apoc to do level 3 missions in then you have bigger issues than how to fit it
why not try out the duramaller or a bunch of other cruiser setups that have been posted here (depending on what cruiser you can fly) or even use inty....but using tier2 bs for agent running just seems a little wrong

Are there many ppl who use batlleships on LVL3 missions? I went down from my Moa to a Caracal just to make it easier and then moved on to a Maller becuase its fun. Isn't it overkill to use BS?

You certainly don't need a bs to do lvl 3 missions, but (if set up right) it's certainly the fastest and most efficient approach.
Overkill is fun.
