I petition customs stations to beable to be placed for anyone who has SOV to 0.0 systems, to anchor a type of station in their systems, and border gates that road block traffic that is deemed red to them. These stations can be destroyed, but it should take a sizable fleet. Border systems that are hi sec those stations shouldn't beable to be destroyed. The loop hole, introduce hacking device that possibly takes up a hi slot that allows someone to hack into the customs station in order to gain acess to these 0.0 systems. Let there be a timer on using this device to 3-5 mins, and let the range to use it so that they can hack into gate at a reasonable range. This also will give more of a use for black ops ships, they can break in, and cyno in fleets. This may also give the need for new capital ships that are black ops, which can give added fire power to a fleet, but is less than a full blown capital ship. Hacking devices should be available to all ships.

I would bubble the gate outside, thus even when someone hacks the gate he cant enter without force.
It just adds a second layer to block a gate.
You can expect all systems to be filled with such gate jammers, thus to sneak into hostile territory you would allways have to hack each single gate.
Now, for roaming gangs, they would have to destroy all jammers on their way into hostile territory, otherwise they would not get out any more.
It would not be the bo that enters this way either, it would be a scout with covert cyno. The bo later bridges stuff and jumps to that cyno from a safe location far away.

Exactly my point. It would prevent roaming gangs from just flying into where ever they want, and be forced to pick their strategy and run with it. Covert cynos will be important if anyone would be planning a major invasion. Or they can take each system by force, but on a system by system basis.

Really bad idea.. 0.0 space gets gridlocked enough.
Null sec isn't about lock-down, it's about freedom to do whatever the hell you want/can. If a roaming group of reds or neutrals has the backbone to fly deep into hostile territory they should not be stopped by some anchored fixture, they should be stopped by pilots of the local alliance.
If the alliance holds more space than they can really control (common problem due to the proliferation of jump gates and jump drives) and they maintain loose borders then they SHOULD be exposed to the dangers of roaming ships. ~ Santiago Fahahrri Galactic Geographic |

Santiago, you are missing the point. You didn't even read the thread did you? If a fleet wants to go into a system and there is a station anchored they have to destroy it first. Upon the destruction of said device they are free to jump in. Destroying said station should take a sizable fleet however. Also roaming fleets are free to grab a hacking device to hack through the gates. Every ship will be required to have such device. There are plenty of options here. Not a bad idea, just alot of people not pay attention to what is said.

You already don't have to be in space to gain your sovereignty, and now you actually don't want to be there either to defend it? Please resize your signature to the maximum allowed of 400 x 120 pixels with a maximum file size of 24000 bytes. Zymurgist |

Why not, if they put forth the work to gain sov they should have benefits. They may not be present in that system all the time, but their POS' are. You aren't in your car, or house all the time, but it's still yours right? I mean do you really want to leave your house/car and leave it unlocked? Why should their defenses only be comprised of other players? Why should their borders be left wide open? If you look at any fortress, or military base, they have walls, fenses, sensors to aid their defense, along with a complement of security. When something is wrong security can go and check it out. In other words it makes it so that you don't have to man every freaking gate. Not to do the guarding for you. Did I ever say these scramblers, or customs stations were going to shoot at anyone? No. Why don't we have obsticles for any invading forces to plow through? No wait, you just want to be lazy and not take the time to strategize, and just gank the usual nub in an industrial. I hate to break this to you, but no one should have just easy acess to anywhere that has SOV, just because it may be their down time and they have fewer players online or whatever.
