I heard this argument from people who didn't want nanoships or ECM to be nerfed either. The argument is that ECM / nano ships / RR can be used to multiply the power of a small gang. This is true.
There's nothing that stops the larger gang from using them either, though, and indeed while ECM boats and nanoships become less effective overall as it's harder to coordinate large groups of such ships, RR fleets become stronger and more durable the larger the fleet is.
So.... when the blobs are using RR, which they'll be doing, and the RR is better than that of a small fleet, how is RR a blob counter? __________________________________

Kind of a flawed arguement. Going by what CCP seems to want (bigger and bigger blobs), we should be nerfing anything that allows a smaller fleet to win against the odds.
This includes most forms of ewar, speed fits, RR, and (to an extent) sniper hacs/ships. RR will probably be the next thing to be nerfed.

@op... why? I do not see how they are unbalanced... if they were removed empire would have a lot more sniper gangs (which would be gay since you cannot bubble them).

well no ****, the armor reps are more hungry for PG so obviously they would use more because armor tanking ships have more PG to use
but the shield transfers use a huge amount of CPU compared to the armor RR
i remember some one doing some percentage to compare the two, the armor RR used like 7% and the ST used like 22%

the majority of the time the blob isn't organized enough to use rr but instead relies on overwhelming numbers alone

Let me rephrase - of course 10 ewar ships is better than 5, but at a point their rate of added effectiveness per ship starts to diminish because coordinating that much ewar becomes difficult, whereas RR blobs are (I believe) easier to coordinate (although on second thought, maybe not because you can have only 10 people on your watch list) __________________________________

I'm kind of ing here... I love how people ***** that blobs are overpowered, and yet apparently are un-willing to make the sort of tactical changes that allow people to deal with blobs. There are a number of ship combos that counter each other well, and plenty of meta-piloting tricks that help out to boot.
tl;dr get some ****ing experience and find a solution to the problem other then 'nerf it'

Too much work. Nerf MWD, Neuts, cruisers, bc's, battleships, carriers and scrams plx
Fake edit: Also nerf snipers and bubbles and (heavy)interdictors and all things that might be stronger than my ship setup
Fake edit 2: Boost webs so my zealot doesn't have to worry about frigate anymore. It's totally OP that a frig can (slowly) kill a hac --------

Singled out the ships are useless, when faced with a similar size sniper BS fleet who actually focus fire they probably won't hold.
If you run into one at short range and when you're in a non-organised group with an FC who isn't actually a proper FC then yes, they're a brick wall.

Oh come on now this is getting ridiculous.
Let's back up a bit to the last nano nerf. The only realistic counter to the nanoships was... more nanoships. Now the Falcons, I flew those, and the only realistic counter to THAT was, you guessed it, more falcons. That or a 200km+ sniper battleship, which is a bit of a stupid thing for a smaller gang to be lugging around with them.
Remote rep groups? Ok you could get more RRers, but unlike sitting at 200km range or going 10km/s, they are FAR from an I-win or I-escape button. They can be tackled down fine, and are vulnerable to ECM and cap warfare. While counters to the Falcon were thin on the ground, more inventive people here could come up with far more ways to deal with RR.

It was the whingers refusing to adapt that originally called for nerfs. Unable to use game mechanics that many better pvp'ers used to overcome their difficulties.
