This has never happened to me until the recent patch.
Hand over your contraband, or else we'll concord your
The text even went to state how I shouldn't worry about this small customs formality
Got a slight standings hit as well, I guess certain goods are going to see a substantial price hike soon...

It is very rare, but I know someone who got hit with it last week before the patch.

Yeah I used to get these events again since Apocrypha, you'd get a mail but no further consequences. Yesterday was the first time they actually took away the stuff and gave me a standings hit, as well.

Happened to me a good week ago too, for the first time in my EVE career. Didn't hand over my cargo, and got a standings hit and a ISK fine as well.

I got hit with that a few years back when I was a noob. The fine put me into negative balance as well. Sucked.

Since Apocrypha, smuggling is not as easy as it used to be. I'm glad for this as it was a bit too easy. Of course I think the "fix" came in I think from the public forum discussion(s) about how broken smuggling was. That being the case I'm not going to suggest, imply, or hint that smuggling is still possible. Word to the wise: Don't post about it either. PS: If you have contraband you no longer want. Eve mail me.

I don't see any change here. You could get fined/standing hit/confiscated/shot before Apocrypha and you still can. What does anyone think changed?
Contraband has levels of illegality, in higher sec systems Customs will attack you, lower they just fine you. Check the tab on the Show Info on the item for details.
Note also that they removed the contraband consequences for faction tags years ago. So, tags still show as being Contraband, but Customs won't do anything to you because of them (no fine, standings hit, or anything). ----- I'm a collector! Want to trade? See my Collection List and contact me. |

Yeah, but...
Quote: Found Contraband:
Elite Slaves, Qty: 20 Standing Penalty: 0.0 Fine: 0 ISK
Slaves, Qty: 16 Standing Penalty: 0.3 Fine: 96,000 ISK Response: Confiscation
Elite Slaves are fine for the Gallente Federation, and normal Slaves aren't?

This is the post of a person who knows just enough to prove they don't know entirely what they are talking about.

Fines are based upon the loosely defined "default" prices as set in the static Eve database.

Maybe the Elite Slaves are treated better than your run of the mill slaves hence why they are Elite.
