I'm sorry to read, that the OP's playing experience seems to be ruined.
"ganked again and again"? That is disturbing: How does this come? Doing the same mistake again and again without learning from it? You know, that there is something like "Hulkageddon" - therefore, why don't you adapt your strategy? Use another ship, mine somewhere else, do something other than mining, use another character, if you are ambushed at a station, ...
"ganked for no reason" It sounds harsh, but there might be always a reason: Someone's making the same mistake again and again, they don't like your posting, they need another killmail, you're flying a Hulk while Hulkageddon, ... "no reason" is relative. I have also been killed sometimes for "no reason" ... so what? Bad encounter. Yes. I personally put them on my "terrible standing list". Maybe we'll meet again ... EVE world = bad world.
burn jita lost almost a billion isk This was an announced "event". Why did they took the risk and haul valuable goods despite the danger? And - why Jita? There are other trade hubs. Less profit? - Well, that's the price for "less risk".
why people are leaving the game. Well, it sounds harsh again, but then one or more of the following applies: * They're not tough enough * They don't read enough informations (like the forum here) * They don't adapt * They made wrong decisions about pondering risk versus profit again and again * They did not searched for allies
the idea of posting fits that work is like giving away your edge in battle Well, the fittings available *could* be a fail fitting. It's not only the fitting, who decides the result of a battle. It's also dependent from your skill setting, and the situation, the encounter happened. Therefore on the contrary, a "good fitting" must not also be a good one for you.
I PAY FOR THIS GAME so do the others too, some with real live money, some with time. And please stop yelling.
so your actions are that of a kid that was bullied in school so he takes it out here in game that *could* be a reason. But what does that mean for you? My suggestion: Adapt and wait for your chance to strike back ... or avoid them.

EVE is a terrible game world for those, who came from another "soft" game. The biggest advantage is also the biggest disadvantag (for those, who can't handle it): freedom.
The game settings offer areas for "carebears" and hardcore PvPers. Each of them more or less secure, but never 100% secure (exept being docked at a station).
Please adapt. Get yourself a thicker skin, and then take the chance and pick the possibilities the game gives to all. You have the same possibilities within the given rules. Other players did the same.
Good luck (and have fun again - hopefully). |

I get the feeling the OP was kind of drunk or something when he made this thread.
However, as much as I don't like them, the Goons have the right to play the game however they want. They can invade highsec if they wish, but it costs them a lot in ships and resources. They had been building up for Burn Jita for quite a time; they could have used all of the money they made to build up for Burn Jita to expand their nullsec territories. Also, EVE has always made a point of being a player-fueled game. In the end, if the highsec players really want to stop the Goons, they will have to band up and hit the Goons where it hurts. http://eve-sojourn.blogspot.com/

Others pay for this game too, and they can play as they please (within the sandbox boundaries set up by CCP)
So please do us and yourself a favor. SHUT UP and play the game MAN UP and take your losses as they are STOP POSTING whining threads that only show you can't deal with an unfortunate event.

Problem with your definition of sandbox is that it doesn't apply to all players. If it's a sandbox, and OP wants to mine unmolested, especially in high sec, then he should be able to. Otherwise it's not a sandbox. |

The problem with sandboxes is that there's always a hidden turd in there somewhere, in Eve the turd happens to be the people who don't play the way you do. EvE is similar to American rules football. The violence that is legal inside the game would not be permitted in public.
Please seek out and join EvE University - they tend to be welcoming to new players.
There is a semi-old saying: don't get mad; get even. This is the way of things in EvE.

Also, definition of sandbox? When I was a child playing in the sandbox it had limitations and defined limits and when I build my sandcastle it was subject to getting destroyed at any time, in fact, some of us took pleasure in doing just that especially when we knew that at the end of the day, the weather would do it for us if we did not.
