Hello friends, I was wondering if anyone was working on compiling the remaining EVE Chronicles into turnschuh's excellent compendium: http://download.eve-online.com/pdf/eve_v1.4_white.pdf
I have sent an in-game message to turnschuh, but have not heard back yet -- just wanted to check and see if someone on the forums knows something about it. If not, who would I need to contact at CCP to pick up where turnschuh left off?
I have to admit, it's a little selfish of me -- I'm thinking of writing some fan fiction and the EVE Chronicles are indispensable for understanding backstory. I have printed and bound turnschuh's compilation and I am reading through it presently. http://www.waypointreached.com |

I have no idea. I didn't even know about the compendium until you linked it (I'm relatively new at this), and it blew me away. I just read through it all and I'm speechless. But I do have a question of my own, though. You seem to be hinting that there's more than this?
If so, could you point me in the right direction while we await the answer to your question? I've discovered that I apparently have an insatiable hunger for this stuff. Hit me, Zantharis... I'm jonesin'...

Alexeph linked to the entire collection of EVE Chronicles. The compendium stopped at "Cold Wind", and there are 81 more EVE Chronicles that have been written since then. I would *love* to see the entire collection put into one or more volumes available from a print-on-demand service. I would pay money for hard copies. (Beats having it print and bound at Kinkos!)
If you haven't already read Gonzales's book The Empyrean Age, it's also pretty good. -------------------- http://www.waypointreached.com |

I'm working on something like this, but it's on hold pending the completion of some in-house work on our web site. Most likely I'll update the background page with several compilations, the latest of which I'll update from time to time as we post new chrons. Current deadline on this is some time in late August, assuming nothing else gets delayed.
That said, I'm fine with anyone compiling the chronicles on their own as a PDF. So long as you don't do anything silly like trying to make money off it, posting them to a Print-on-Demand site, or posting without crediting CCP, it's not going to be a problem.

Edited by: Mizharaa Del''thul on 17/07/2009 11:33:30 Sounds excellent. Also, I've now read through every chronicle on the site, and I'm beyond awed and amazed. Not to derail the topic, but I'd just like to say thank you, Abraxas. Looking at the world of Eve from all those viewpoints, colored by so many different personalities and cultural issues... It's been a joyride from my first click on the chronicle page until the last time I closed my browser tab.
As a hobby writer, I don't know much about writing in general, but I do know just enough to recognize talent when I see it. Fantastic job, and keep them coming. I'll be reading these until you stop making them, and even then I'll still be returning to most of them for the fabulous imagery and stories.
Edit: One of these days I'll remember to switch back from the alt I made for portrait changing my main.
