With respect to the cost of these skills, I think 5 million a piece is about right. I think these skills are only being introduced to balance other forthcoming skills which have high ranks. They are designed for use by the experienced player and to be affordable for the experienced player.

So... we're going to have a maximum of 150 orders on the market at once per player, after considerable training? I think I'm going to have to get my alts going...
Yea, sigh.

Surely it will be added, unless the skill prerequisites for some of those skills change.

Well, if the orders are visible in several regions, 150 should be just about enough. |

If you want everything now, Eve is not the game for you. Better go and play some UT.

While 5 mil for each of the skills might sound expensive, especialy for new players, compare that to price of implants (30mil for +3 mem, 25 mil for +3 int ...) and it doesn't seem so much anymore.
On top of that, if (when) you get podded, you don't have to buy and train them all over again

Originally by: Armi Tage FYI, i can afford them, but I've been saving for something else and it irks me that they are that expensive, 1 Million would be enough.
and they are also for the new players who want to catch up a little bit faster, not only for the old ones.
Have you even thought how long it takes to train the learning skills to lvl 5 (pre requisites) - if you are planning on doing this, and training useful skills at the same then by the time you get around to the advanced learning kills you should find that 5mil, while not inconsequential, is not all that big a deal to buy a skill.
Yes - 5 mil to a starting player is a lot - 5mil to someone who has been playing the game long enough to have a learning skill to lvl 5 is not.

Finally some skills for that Trade skill that's been sitting in my brain for over a year! Hurah for that, was about time it started to have a use.
Just to bad that I've drifted away from what I initially wanted to do with my character shrugs. Oh well, I am looking forward to the market overhaul. By the time I get back from travelling and start playing Eve again, I need to learn the whole thing all over again.
Looking quite forward to it

Edited by: GlimmerMan on 26/09/2004 00:57:30 LOL? 5 Mill expensive? - They should each be about 25 Mill if you ask me. We are after all talking about permanent +4/5 implants here. These skills should be for older players who have been hindered by the limitations of only having the normal skills and basic implants for quite some time now. At 5 Mill each any new player that has been playing for a couple of months can afford them, and wonFt have to suffer the many months of limitation beforehand that us older players have had to endure.

armi, at barely 3 monthes old, how many of the primary learning skills do you have at lvl 5 anyways. i'm curious. for all of them at lvl 5 is over 1 month alone, not to mention 1, 2, 3, 4 for each.
no offense intended
***edit***
and i'm very very surprised they did not make an adv learning skill as well with a prereq of learning 5, and adv learning lvl 3 as well for req for any of the adv learning skills.

Edited by: Lavondyss on 26/09/2004 08:29:17 I would really have liked to see a master advanced learning skill as a prereq for training the other advanced learning skills. Shame I trained empathy from 4 to 5 in anticipation of needing all the original learning skills at lvl 5 in order to train the non existant advanced learning skill(s)

Initially I'll admit that when I heard of the advanced learning skills, I was*****-a-hoop because I have mem and int at lvl 5 already. Que "smug mode" . Nice little shock to see that it isn't to be the case for all the advanced attributes that mem and int are the primary and secondary attributes...but on reflection, I do think it is fair. This way doesn't hamper those that only want to get their "combat" attributes up.
I think that if there was to be a connection with "your head" for learning skills, it should be the secondary attribute. i.e Focus, Category: Learning, Rank: 3, Primary Attribute: Willpower, Secondary Attribute: Intelligence But still, I'll work with what's coming and get advanced mem and int up to 3, which will help me get perc and willpwer basic up to 5 quicker.. and so on and so forth. Then all to 4 as soon as I have the time. That way I dont need the implants that make me weep everytime I get podded.

Well i'm set with my learning skills, the first level 5 on my char was learning (everybody called me crazy, well i might be ). Can't wait for the advanced ones , made the right choice going for balanced attributes (well except for perception, forgot it was vewy important) ------------------------------------------ The ammatar are not the enemy, they are the smoke and mirrors of the amarr. |
