As complex as this game is it should qualify as one of the premier thinking peoples game. They sure blew that when they made a 100 watt light bulb that burns more juice at my neighbors house than mine. I refer to the Blasters and such whose use of the cap is based on the the size of the cap.5% of the cap in a Condor cap is far different than 5% of a Maelstrom cap. Too bad air conditioners don't draw more juice at Bill Gates' house than at mine. "Owning a dog teaches a child Honesty, Loyalty, and to always circle three times before lying down".....Mark Twain |

Either your house is the same size, and layout and has the same ventilation system placement, or yours use far less.
My guess is your house is far smaller then his, requiring far less energy to cool then his.
I am not sure if this is a troll... therfore a rate it 9/10 the best trolls are stealth ones. (if its not... ya you dont fit in to the thinking mans category)

1) I'm not sure if EvE was ever intended to be realistic, but it isn't. Apart from it being irritating to pedantic people like myself, this is irrelevant.
2) EvE is a thinking persons game in the sense that it is up to the player community to reverse engineer the arcane, convoluted and ever-changing models that CCP uses to produce the game dynamic. This saves greatly on documentation and can be billed as a feature.
Once you can accept this, EvE becomes more enjoyable. It still drives me nuts that 'invention' results in something that you can use up, i.e forget how to build what you invented, but you have to look at such things in terms of how they affect gameplay.

Edited by: Kismo on 07/07/2009 23:54:40 Eve is a thinking person's game in a similar way to Magic is. There's a deck building phase (ship fitting), and there's a play phase. They're quite different and being brilliant at one doesn't mean that you'll be good at the other. In fact, they're even more similar because there's largely standard decks/fits that get passed around.
No, I haven't played MTG in a long time.
I suppose I should also mention that gross imbalances in the game no more make Eve less of a thinking game than Magic (or even Chess). They simply change the metagame you should play around.

Very nice post IMO. Made perfect sense and got me to think of my good ole MTG days, to boot! ;) Enjoy your life, you won't get a re-run. |

What a range. Amazing. I was referring to the fact that Blaster ammunitions' use of the cap is a percentage instead of a fixed amount. Therefore the same shell uses more cap in a larger ship than in a smaller ship. I didn't think that was such a difficult concept to grasp but I guess it went over some of the pinheads heads. Uh, put down the drugs and think before you post? The cap penalty listed on the ammo is a modifier on the GUN'S cap use. If the gun uses 5 cap per shot and you load ammo with +10% cap use, you use 5.5 cap per shot. It has nothing to do with the size of your ship's capacitor.
edit: Oh, it's you again, the guy who fits cruise missiles and small guns on his Maelstrom. Either you're the dumbest person in the history of the EVE forums, or one of the most successful trolls. Either way, just go back to WoW already. ==========

This game uses alot of percentages. It what makes ALOT of things work, esp skills and ship bonuses.
Anyway if it wernt a percentage it would have to be some random fixed number that some guy would have to dream up for every ship, and every combination of ammos. AND IF HE DID - you would only then complain when you compre these numbers and find out that averagly theres some inconistances and demand a fixed percentage instead!
And no 'lazy' comments about the programmers or designers

Btw, while Aus Dog's posts betray a certain childlike charm and their not to everyone's tastes, I don't think he should be routinely castigated for them. Occasionally castigated yes, but not routinely.

No. Personally I suspect he was banned from WOW for being too stupid, and hence came here to try and flaunt his intelligence (or lack thereof). He succeeded hilariously, and is now getting flamed to death.

OP's attic is VERY well ventilated, proven in his prior lol-posts. Therefore his house needs less cap to run. The bulbs he uses are also extra-dim.

I think the game is to look at what your soul looked like before EVE, and then again after 4 or 5 years of EVE.
i.e. Before EVE I was Satan-Neutral, but now I am totally Pro-Satan |
