Sure thats a lot of fun. Lots of risk there (cough/choke). The whole point is to salvage or loot and try to get the mr to shoot a defenseless frigate. Try that, then troll the forum. What fool would shoot at a CNR unprovoked. I dont think it was hate mail, but sympathy cards. No you are not getting the whole Ninja thing.
To be honest here, again I was trying to emphasize with you guys and to say that I had possibly misjudged the activity on a certain level...
But since you opened this door...
First of all, Mr. Suddenly Ninja, the goal for you is really to try and get people to shoot at you? Strangely enough in the many times, and I mean many times, that I have encountered your corporation in my missions I've had stuff stolen out of my can one time. That's right--a single time. So spare me the lecture about what your "goals" when your corporation never tried to get me to shoot at them in their many opportunities to do so.
Second of all, Mr. Gankbear, there is this very wonderful idiomatic expression in English that goes something like:
"Those who live in glass houses shouldn't throw stones."
I think that this applies most assuredly to you. You want to make a comment about the lack of "danger" in an activity? Really? You? The people who hang out in hi-sec and flip cans so you can kill that solo mission runner in his PvE fit ship? The people whose idea of a good time is trying to trick someone into getting concorded?
And you're saying it to me... a pirate. You know, the real kind, that lives in low-sec and blows up people in pvp fit ships.
Yeah. I thought so.

I ninja salvaged someones L3 in a dessy once. They were in a cyclone, I was in a thrasher.
It was suddenly hilarious when he shot at me with his big strong artys, and I orbitted at 1000m and popped him with ACs. Much lulz were had.
Salvage sucked though =/ ==============

So you ran into a mission runner with obviously no pvp experience that was flying a pve ship, got him to shoot at a ship he had no chance of killing with his fit, and you're bragging about killing him? That sound about right? __________________ Look, a forum alt! |

Its great fun to use an alt to bump them off there next acceleration gate while you pop all the triggers in the next room and kite them all over to the warp in point. Then you can sit and watch for when the CNR on scan turns into a pod on scan.
Saving this for the next time someone says mission running is risk free.

Wow, I didn't know it was that easy to extract tears from a real p-p-p-p-pirate!
ITT - tears because people don't play the game the way you want them to play.
You are assuming that, because you ONLY pirate, that ninja salvagers ONLY try to gank noobs.
I do something different every day. That's what I love about this game is it's diversity and I am not limited to one style of play.
One day, I might decide to flip cans. It's fun!
Tomorrow, I may suicide a random retriever for laughs. It's fun!
The next day, I might run lowsec and see if I can pop me some red flashies - which btw, is a lot easier than ganking noob mission runners. Don't delude yourself there honey.
Next week, I might initiate a vote to wardec some random 100+ member empire alliance with my 1 man alt corp. It's fun!
I've even gone to 0.0 and camp other people's mobile warp bubbles. It's fun!
You think you're badass cus you only do one aspect of the game, and your tears suggest you do it rather poorly. You should get out of your shell and explore some other aspects of this game. ------------------ Go Deep! |

maybe not on the street but .....
"Passengers are paying about $5,700 a day to patrol the waters off Somalia in heavily armed private yachts, hoping to attract the attention of pirates. Then, when the bad guys get close, the badder guys open fire with grenade launchers, machine guns, and rocket launchers. The yachts come with body guards, who are allegedly "a squad of ex special forces troops," and, for about $20 a day extra, you can use an AK-47 and 100 rounds of ammo.
"They are worse than the pirates," the article quotes a Russian yachtsman named Vladimir Mironov. "At least the pirates have the decency to take hostages, these people are just paying to commit murder."

Hmm, wonder if they have a killboard ? Or maybe they mount human heads over their fireplaces when they get home.

Sadly, I'm sure they do, of some sort. Blowing up internet spaceships is one thing, killing people, especially for sport, is just wrong. Sure, the pirates in their boats looking to rob, and probably ransom the owners are wrong and immoral, but the people baiting them just so they can kill them are as bad if not worse. __________________ Look, a forum alt! |

Pointing out your lack of reading comprehension, and the general idiocy of what goes on in C&P (why I stopped my forum whoring here many moons ago) does not qualify as tears.
Quote: ITT - tears because people don't play the game the way you want them to play.
Again, as I've probably said a bazillion times (yes no hyperbole there really a bazillion) I don't care how anyone plays the game. Truthfully I always sort of looked down on the ninja salvagers--mainly because of their chest beating--but initially this thread was a tip of the hat to them. I tried it and got hate mail. Hate mail is nice. I understand a bit better.
Our particular discussion however began when, as a response to this thread, a particular gankbear tried to make fun of me for not being "risky enough" in my foray into ninja missioning. So the topic of "risk" was broached by them, not me, and in a rather hostile manner.
At that point it was entirely appropriate--which you still seem to be unable to comprehend--to respond on that particular posters own terms. There is some amount of irony there, and to deny it is to sit in the mud and claim the world is flat.
Quote: You are assuming that, because you ONLY pirate, that ninja salvagers ONLY try to gank noobs.
Please show me where exactly I claimed this to be the case? Because I responded as I did when someone ASSUMED that because I didn't flip a can in high-sec I was risk averse? Please.
But lets be completely honest with ourselves. While I am sure that there is more to the ninja salvagers life than picking on "noobs" or people with no experience pvping, you forget I have many high-sec alts--including this mission runner I was discussing in the original post. I know high-sec looks like. I also know that suddenly Ninja's, at least, have only ever flipped a loot can on my high-sec bountied mission runner once--when they had like 15 people in my mission.
Taking them and there claim at face value--that their policy is to TRY and get the mission runner to shoot at them--I can only assume that there lack of flipping my cans in my dozen or so encounters with them has to do with my mission runner having a sizable bounty and thus appearing more scary than your standard missioner.
Quote: I do something different every day. That's what I love about this game is it's diversity and I am not limited to one style of play.
Good for you. You aren't alone. Many of us have multiple accounts where each focuses on a different aspect of the game.
Quote: One day, I might decide to flip cans. It's fun!
Please point out where I ever claimed that this activity was not, in any circumstance fun.
Quote: The next day, I might run lowsec and see if I can pop me some red flashies - which btw, is a lot easier than ganking noob mission runners. Don't delude yourself there honey.
Bull****. Easier in the sense that you don't have to trick someone into agroing you and that red flashies are probably LOOKING for a fight. You're statement is prima facie ridiculous. Anyone who kills mission runners, and we have those in low-sec so don't fool yourself "honey," is harder than killing people specifically fit to kill other players, and who are experienced in fighting other players in this game, is full of hot air.
Quote: You think you're badass cus you only do one aspect of the game, and your tears suggest you do it rather poorly.
Please show me where I think I am "badass" because I'm a pirate. Your only evidence for this is found lifting parts of this thread out of context--which as we've discussed you're good at. As for the last part of that statement... you can take Giantsquids word for how "bad" we are, as already posted in this tread, or you can google our killboard. Alternatively, you can come visit us in Placid and I'll show you first hand. My sig don't fracking work. |
