...is it actually possible? I was travelling gate-to-gate thru hisec NOT afk. Got blown up by someone in a Tornado who apparently one-shotted my paper-thin Badger. I was using a passworded Giant Secure Container that was holding 400m isk' worth of invulnerability field.
Fly off to another system to pick up another badger so that i can then collect the containers and the precious cargo, only to come back and find out its not there anymore.
So my question is, whilst trying to quell the raging f*cking butthurt i feel right now, how can you securely move things from one place to another if all it takes is some tit in a suicide gank fit Tornado to take it all away? |

Ask yourself if what you're carrying is worth the cost of suicide ganking your ship before undocking? eh |

If that were the case, no high value goods would ever move anywhere at all, couriers would never have anything to move except large amounts of worthless crap or minerals and modules found aboard NPC wrecks wouldn't ever leave the system they spawned in.... no? |

People have got to get the hell out of Jita.
Can you fly a cloaky hauler yet?
Otherwise fit a nano version and see how you go?
My best is still getting 2 billion isk out of Jita in a Shuttle.
I wore my brown pants for that one. I dont normally troll, but when i do i do it on General Discussion. |

There are several options available to pod pilot Demi Gods, you only have to have some experience and give it some thought.
- Train for a cloaky hauler, that way if you aren't unlucky you can cloak as you are warping. Alternatively you can use t2 transport ships and use the cloak warp trick on them.
- Use courier contracts. With courier contracts you can set the collateral amount the courier has to put up in case he loses your cargo, or steals it. If either happen, you are awarded whatever amount you had the courier pilot put up.
- Don't transport more than 50m worth of goods in your tech 1 haulers.
Don't fly what you cant afford to lose. |

Greeting capsuleer,
The answer to securely transporting high value goods is to combine your scouting ability with some use of the starmap and, if possible, flying a Transport type ship.
If you fly a Transport you have options on cloaked vessels which are fast, agile beasts that slip underneath all attempts to scan them or something that is a bit beefier and can absorb sufficient damage for CONCORD to come to your aid. One of my co-pilots uses a Crane to cart high value goods through low security space and acts as a shipping agent for myself and a few of my colleagues. Thus far not a single Crane has been lost.
Alternatively, Freighters. It requires a reasonable amount of damage to take one of those capital sized behemoths down. But it can be done.
Keep in mind though, you're never safe. You can take steps to increase the odds of making it to your destination safely, but you can never remove all risk except by staying docked.
Regards,

Secure transportation? let Red Frog or PushX take the risks, you either get your goods delivered or you get the collateral if your goods get exploded, either way you don't lose out.
An unanchored GSC can be opened by anybody IIRC, the password option only works if the can is actually anchored in space. War hasn't been fought this badly since Olaf the Hairy, High Chief of all the Vikings, accidentally ordered 80,000 battle helmets with the horns on the inside. |

Greetings capsuleer,
Another thought. Dropping a single Secure Container in your hold tells anyone that Cargo Scans you that you are carrying something valuable. There are better ways to obfuscate what is in your hold to make it more difficult to see that you are carrying something of value.

Best I can say is that it is a game EHP vs Reward.
If you flew 400m worth of goods in a transport ship with 60k EHP your probably wouldn't have died. A T1 Industrial costs as much as a Thrasher and you want to carry more ISK then a Dreadnaught inside securely.
Yu have to put money into your defense no matter how much it pains you. You put money into your Mission Ships, PvP Ships, Implants and everyone forgets to put money into the defense of their Bulk Goods Transports.

I hear orca corp hangers are good for moving high value goods.
Gankers can't scan the corp hangers and I dont think anything from them drops. |

A CN invulnerability field takes up 5m3. So you decided that this monstrously large and hideously expensive module needed to be secured in the slowest and weakest ship you could find. And your conclusion was that you did everything right and it is just impossible to securely transfer items? Smart. |

You will never be truly safe while transporting goods, accept that now and you will save yourself much frustration later.
You can make it safer though. Here are some tips.
1. Scout ahead or hire a someone to scout ahead. If they report destroyers or other well known suicide ganker ships camping the game then you will know not to go there.
2. Fly with a group of haulers or get a decoy. More haulers = more potential targets = less chance you will get blown up.
3. Avoid heavily traveled systems when possible. The gankers will know to wait there. |

Looking at your kill mail, you failed to mention that you also had a Dread Guristas Adaptive Invuln as well as the container. The container, as has been said, is sort of a dead giveaway anyway. Looks like you were fitted for maximum cargo so it really shouldn't come as a surprise that you lost it all.
How can anybody think hauling 700m worth of goods in a t1 hauler is a good idea. I mean come on now. |
