In the 5 - Faster-than-light travel û how? article, there seems to be some confusion about the difference between a warp drive and a jump drive as we know them.
Unless I'm way confused, the second paragraph seems to be referencing warp drive technology since they say "All space ships are equipped with a jump drive device.", however they call them "jump drives" instead.
The third paragraph seems to be referencing what we know as jump drives, like the ones used on capital ships, but they make no references to the concept of cynosural fields.
Is this article too old to make sense with the current EVE Online mechanics or did I miss something?
I'm trying to find a plausible scientific explanation of how eve online warp drives work, and I can't find anything but this.

It's a very old article. The paragraphs about depleted vacuum and locking onto gravity wells within a system is how Warp Drives work in EVE. -----

warp drive is your standard in system FTL drive. but it is too slow for going anywhere but the current system, which is why we have stargates.
a jump drive is basicly like the Wormhole Drive they used to move Atlantis to earth orbit in that final episode of the stargate atlantis series.

I believe in the early alphas or betas you were able to fit jump modules to a subcapital ship, as early footage showed ships disappearing in a particle cloud. The article here may be in part referring to that. It was obviously taken out.
