Well, every day the Ammatar Consulate sends their best and brightest stock to my plantation so I can enlighten them further. However I've just discovered a problem!
My plantation has 11,695 slaves and only FIVE copies of PAX Amarria. I'm scared that the slaves might try to kill each other to get ahold of one of the copies at scripture study time!
Maybe if I put them in shift work? -----------------------------------

I'd be willing to either take some of those workers off your load for you.. or perhaps supply you with more Pax. Contact me if interested in either.

The answer is quite simple.
Divide the book into it's chapters, giving each chapter to a group of slaves who can study it together. After a week, rotate.

Even better, divide the book into its component molecules, sit back and admire a job well done -------------------- "My dear, I'm going to have a pretty lonely walk between this and Kingdom Come. Won't you give me one kiss? It'll be something to keep off the darkness now and then."

Edited by: Matt Ivresse on 27/09/2004 13:56:09 I seem to remember a story of an Amarr telling a Gallente about a story in the scriptures about an Emperor who fed 5000 starving slaves with just 5 fishes and 4 loaves of bread. After the Gallente heard the story he took the idea and invented Nouvelle Cuisine...
Perhaps you could try it here...it could be called 'The reading of the 11,000'... ---------------------------

Pulgor, this indeed is a serious problem, but it can be resolved.
Dividing the five copies should not be done, however imagine the potential for learning if you get one slave to tattoo another slaves back with scripture.
This would mean while they worked, they could read the wonderful work written on the back of their neighbour.
Once this project is done, anytime is study time.
Your slaves will thankyou for the continual flow of enlightenment, even as they toil.

This may be a silly question.. But I thought the Pax Amarria was not a religious text at all. It is the biography of the late Emperor Heideran and it contains his thoughts about foreign and domestic policies.
It is a work dedicated to promoting peace, but it's not a religious work , is it ?
Though I am sure your slaves are very interested indeed in reading this book nevertheless, and I don't have a problem with you not reading through it first to ensure it is a proper text to introduce to your captives. Who said learning to speak , read and write Amarrian would not come in handy

Hand them copies of the scriptures and hide the Pax - it might give them bad ideas about peace and prosperity for everyone.

Pax Amarria does have some washy parts about the various peaceful resolutions for everything.
The moral of the book is that there is a peaceful solution for everything. That's the part I want the slaves to understand so they don't become Blood Thirsty Minmatar's.
Unfortunatly the only copies of the scriptures I have are in the form of tear out postars from the back of the books. However I've been distributing each scripture and book as a set to ensure full enlightnement and reference (As the book makes many references to scripture passages I wouldn't expect the slaves to have memorized yet.)
As for tatooing the text on the back, that won't hold very much! Also much of the back space is used up when I branded the barcodes on their backs. -----------------------------------

/me puts tattoo needle down.
You would be amazed at how much text you can fit on a slaves back.
Admittedly there have been instances where the writing has been so small it has been difficult to read.
In those cases I issue them with magnifying glasses. Working under the hot sun with someone reading scripture off your back via a magnifying glass improves work rate considerably.
The odd one might go up in Holy smoke, but it inspires the others to move all the faster.
It is all win for me, well read slaves working at an increased rate while I save on scripture distribution costs.

Actually I may have solved the problem without unnecessary tatooing. I'll post more about the solution in a bit. -----------------------------------

This is obviously pulgor's attempt at making humour out of the great suffering of my enslaved brothers /sisters, i refuse to believe that you only have five copies of that vile book.
Pulgor? you often brag that you are very wealthy and you can afford to keep thousands of slaves, so why cant you afford more copies of that disgusting filth?
You ammatar better pray that the amarians you hide behind are never crushed by our forces.

Nebulous, I swear I only have five copies of Pax Amarria. Gaius gave them to me to distribute among 2,000 slaves that he traded in return for electronic parts.
And I'm not wealthy, most of my money goes to feeding, clothing, and inspiring those slaves. The Uranium they mine goes to the Ammatar Consulate to help reduce the funding problem it has.
This is a very serious problem. I had to seperate a few of them the other day because they were fighting over one of the books!
Also Pax Amarria is in very high demand, I can't buy anymore as the publisher is always out! -----------------------------------
