As a rookie player just started with FW today (enlisted) how do I find a fleet to fight with?
In the new FW interface I see different systems that are contested, do I just fly to a random system an join the fight, or do I have to ask for permission in the militia channel? I am no spy, just a new player in EVE, but how can I get in contact with ongoing fights?
Any good advice? |

It should be noted that the warzone that Mek has mentioned is a bit outdated. Most of the war has moved up north.
Best to look at the new Faction Warfare Interface and use that as the foundation for your research.
Dotlan is your friend; http://evemaps.dotlan.net/factionwarfare
And to save you the frustration, no one will accept pilots who are in the NPC Militia corps. And even fewer will accept pilots who are in a corp that does not have blue standings.
So to answer your next question, "Which corps should I join?"
Do your homework by looking at the Gallente Militia KB and see who is and isn't recruiting. Note that that KB is bugged and doesn't show alliances in militia. And there are 3 alliances currently in Gal Mil. Two of them will not accept complete novices (SOTF and SLAPD). The third, Villore Accords, have a few corps that will take in newbies. I believe Genstar will take in novices. So talk to Sinsabul or Janeiros. Both good guys and patient with noobs. There is also
CMEVE Mecha Enterprises
Both are in Villore Accords.
But in all honesty, Gallente Militia War College is your best bet. They are a training corp for Gal Mil newbies. They have insructors who will teach 90% of what you need to know about FW life. And once you "graduate", you can join a more established corp.
My corp does recruit but we are a bit more selective and some of our criteria can be found in our recruitment thread.
Good luck. C'est La Eve :) Gallente Militia -áPVP Corp. Selective recruitment open. http://iamsheriff.com/eagle.html |
